Bernadette and Jordan Sukkar put Double Bay home up for auction with $5.25 million guide

Bernadette Sukkar (née Fahey) and her husband, Buildcorp chief operating officer Jordan Sukkar, have listed their Double Bay home with a price guide of $5.25 million ahead of an auction later this month.

Jordan Sukkar purchased the property in 2021 for $5 million. The couple have largely left the house intact but secured council approval for renovations intended to expand and reconfigure parts of the residence.

The two-level residence features high ornate ceilings, an open-plan living area with café-style bi-fold windows and a sun-filled interior that opens onto a courtyard and garden sanctuary. The floor plan incorporates four bedrooms and two bathrooms, while the kitchen offers stone benchtops and timber cabinetry. The property also benefits from rare rear-lane access to a double lock-up garage and is within walking distance of Double Bay Village’s shops and cafes.

Alex Lyons of Raine & Horne Double Bay, the listing agent, said the house was immediately liveable but that planned alterations would create significantly more space. "The house is perfectly liveable as it is, but they had planned to open it up a bit to create more space," Lyons told the Wentworth Courier. He added that if a buyer proceeded with the approved works the finished home could sell for more than $10 million.

The public listing follows social media attention earlier this month when Jordan Sukkar posted footage of his wife retrieving a takeaway container from a bin at the property and eating a portion of cold chips. The video was shared to mark Bernadette Sukkar’s birthday and was presented in a lighthearted caption referencing the couple’s domestic moment.

Bernadette Sukkar is known publicly for her Pilates business and social-media presence. The couple married in November in a wedding that included high-profile guests; they then honeymooned on Hamilton Island and later travelled in Europe. Reported costs for parts of their honeymoon and travel have been described in media coverage as running into six figures.

The listing adds to recent activity in Sydney’s upscale harbourside suburbs, where buyers often seek properties that combine character features with scope for contemporary renovation. The auction will determine whether market demand will reflect the agent’s assessment that completed works could substantially increase the home’s value.
