Former Domino's CEO Don Meij lists Brisbane penthouse as he relocates to US
The 588-square-metre Luminare apartment features a private pool, gym and sauna; Meij is seeking 'best offers' after buying the property in 2023.

Former Domino's chief executive Don Meij has put his Brisbane penthouse on the market, saying he and his wife will spend most of their time overseas after relocating to the United States to start a new food-related business.
Meij, 56, is seeking "best offers" for the four-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment atop the Luminare development in Newstead, a short drive from Brisbane's central business district. He purchased the 588-square-metre residence for A$12.95 million in 2023 but told The Courier-Mail he and his wife were reluctant sellers because they expect to be based in Dallas for 48 to 50 weeks of the year.
Positioned on the 25th floor, the apartment was designed to maximise high-rise vantage points with floor-to-ceiling windows and an open-plan layout. The private residence includes a rooftop pool and balcony off the main living space, a dedicated gym, a sauna and a main bedroom with an extensive walk-in dressing room and wardrobe. Additional features listed include a rumpus room with a pool table, a wet bar, a private office and an ultra-modern kitchen with a butler's pantry, stone benchtops and a breakfast island.
The Luminare development sits close to the banks of the Brisbane River and offers residents resort-style communal facilities including a steam room, barbecue area and a multifunctional meeting room suitable for dinner parties. The building's height and riverside location provide panoramic views of the Brisbane skyline and surrounding hinterland.
Meij stepped down from his role as Domino's Australia chief executive and managing director in 2024 after an almost 40-year career with the company. He began in the pizza business as a delivery driver in 1987 and rose through the ranks to lead Domino's operations in Australia. In May 2005 he oversaw Domino's listing on the Australian Securities Exchange, when the chain operated 387 stores and recorded about A$300 million in sales. The business has since expanded to roughly 3,700 stores and about A$4 billion in sales.
Reflecting on his departure from the company, Meij said, "Domino's really has been my life," and that he left knowing the business was "well positioned for an exciting new chapter." He celebrated 30 years with the company in 2017 and announced his resignation in November 2024.
The listing follows Meij's decision to relocate to Dallas to pursue a new food-related venture. He told the Courier-Mail that while the couple considered retaining the apartment, it made little sense given the extent of their overseas commitments.
The sale adds to a pattern of high-end residential listings by prominent corporate figures in Brisbane, a city that has seen growing interest in premium riverfront and inner-city apartments. Meij has not disclosed an asking price and will consider offers for the property.
