Myprotein founder lists £6.95m Alderley Edge mansion in Cheshire's 'Golden Triangle'
Oliver Nobahar‑Cookson puts Tudor‑style Hanson Hall — a seven‑bedroom estate with pool, cinema and 13 acres — on the market for £6.95 million

Oliver Nobahar‑Cookson, the founder of sports nutrition brand Myprotein, has put his seven‑bedroom Tudor‑style mansion in Alderley Edge up for sale with an asking price of £6.95 million.
The property, known as Hanson Hall and set on about 13 acres of private woodland, is listed at roughly £300,000 less than reports say Cookson paid when he bought it. The estate spans four floors and comprises a main house with five bedrooms and a separate two‑bed annex above a five‑car garage.
The main residence opens with an entrance hall and includes formal dining and drawing rooms, an open‑plan kitchen, a leisure suite with an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room, plus a cinema room, bar, wine cellar and gym. Internal finishes are described as blending traditional timber frames with contemporary fittings. The detached annex features two bedrooms, a kitchen and dining area and is accessed via a cobbled drive.
Nobahar‑Cookson founded Myprotein in the early 2000s after experimenting with protein powder while working as a web developer. He financed the initial product in part through an increased bank overdraft and sold his first batches via a website. The brand grew rapidly and in 2011 was sold to The Hut Group for a reported £350 million in cash. Nobahar‑Cookson has since been listed among the UK's wealthy entrepreneurs and is reported to own additional properties overseas, including in Monte Carlo and Monaco.
The sale of Hanson Hall comes amid sustained demand for high‑end homes in Alderley Edge, the area often dubbed the "Golden Triangle" or the "Knightsbridge of the north" because of its concentration of affluent residents. The Cheshire village and surrounding countryside have long attracted footballers and other high‑earning public figures; past residents and nearby homeowners have included former England international David Beckham and other Premier League players who have sought country boltholes within commuting distance of Manchester.
Estate agents' marketing for Hanson Hall highlights the combination of recreational facilities and seclusion offered by the plot, noting landscaped grounds and the property's private woodland. The listing does not indicate a closing timetable.
Cookson's rise from a school leaver who completed an apprenticeship in computer programming to a founder of a major online sports nutrition business has been widely reported. After founding Myprotein, he expanded operations from a single warehouse in Manchester to a business serving multiple European markets, earning industry recognition before the sale to The Hut Group. In 2019 he was named among the UK's leading self‑made entrepreneurs under 40 and appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List.
The Ald erley Edge market has remained prominent for buyers seeking large country houses with comprehensive leisure facilities and privacy. Properties in the area frequently feature swimming pools, gyms, home cinemas and multiple‑vehicle garages, amenities that mirror those at Hanson Hall and that continue to draw interest from both domestic and international purchasers.
