Origin Mattress launches in U.S., promising luxury features at lower prices

Origin Mattress, a sleep brand that has sold products in markets including Singapore, the U.K. and Australia, launched in the United States on Tuesday, pitching lower prices and technical features it says deliver “luxury” sleep without showroom markups.

The company said it has more than one million customers globally, more than 30 international awards and over 12,000 five-star reviews. Origin’s U.S. rollout centers on two flagship models—the Adapt Hybrid and the LumbarCloud—and is accompanied by an introductory promotion of up to 40% off mattresses and two free pillows, the company said. Origin also advertises free shipping, free returns, a 365-night trial and a lifetime warranty.

Origin described the Adapt Hybrid as a multi-layer design combining dual memory-foam layers with more than 2,000 individually pocketed coils and a company-developed HexaGrid orthopedic layer. Origin said HexaGrid has been clinically tested to provide about 25% more support than traditional memory foam and that 94% of users report relief within the first week. The company also promoted cooling technologies in the Adapt Hybrid—SnowTencel fabric, bamboo gel-infused foams and graphite-infused layers—that it said can lower core body temperature by up to 10 degrees Celsius compared with traditional memory foam, and reduce partner motion by up to 40%.

The LumbarCloud is positioned toward consumers with chronic back or joint pain. Origin said the model includes what it calls Antigravity Gel Technology to relieve pressure and an orthopedic LumbarSupport layer aimed at reinforcing the lower back. The company said the LumbarCloud integrates microcoils and a TitaniumCoil base for reinforced support and minimal motion transfer, and that the mattress uses breathable natural materials such as AlpacaWool+ and a CashmereCloud pillowtop. Origin markets the LumbarCloud as “America’s No. 1 Luxury Mattress for Back & Joint Relief.”

Company representatives said Origin sources materials from Fair Trade-certified suppliers and sustainable manufacturers and that all foams used in its mattresses are CertiPUR-US certified. Origin also said its mattresses are handcrafted and non-toxic, and noted the absence of fiberglass in its constructions. The company said a portion of its revenue supports causes through a 1% for Better Sleep pledge aimed at sleep equity, spinal health research and ethical farming.

Industry analysts and consumer trends indicate U.S. shoppers are increasingly prioritizing sleep health and spending more on bedroom products. The direct-to-consumer mattress market has grown over the past decade as online brands have undercut traditional retail markups and offered long home trials, free returns and extended warranties. Those service elements are a central part of Origin’s U.S. offer.

Origin’s claims about support, cooling and pain relief are based on company testing and marketing materials; prospective buyers should consult independent reviews and consider personal sleep needs before purchasing. The debut promotion and trial terms are intended to reduce purchase risk, a tactic commonly used by mattress brands entering new markets.

The company’s U.S. entry adds another competitor to a crowded sleep-products market where price, materials transparency and trial policies have become key differentiators. Origin will ship directly to consumers and handle returns through its U.S. operations, the company said, as it seeks to translate international sales momentum into growth in the American market.
