Trump and Starmer Sign Ground-Breaking Billion-Dollar U.K.-U.S. Tech Prosperity Deal
A cross-Atlantic tech-investment package described as the largest of its kind during a state visit; hundreds of billions of pounds and dollars pledged, with significant contributions from Blackstone and GSK.

A landmark U.K.-U.S. tech prosperity deal was signed Thursday during a State Visit aimed at deepening the two nations' business ties, officials said. President Donald Trump and U.K. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer announced a package described as 'ground-breaking' for its scale and scope, signaling a new era of cross-Atlantic technology investment.
Starmer said the deal 'the largest commercial package ever secured during a State Visit' and cited a total of about 250 billion pounds ($340 billion) flowing both ways across the Atlantic. A Downing Street press release described the package as 'the largest commercial package ever secured during a State Visit,' underscoring the power of the U.K.-U.S. economic partnership. U.S. companies pledged £150 billion ($204 billion) in investment in the United Kingdom over the next decade, including £90 billion ($122 billion) from investment firm Blackstone. Almost $30 billion has been invested by pharmaceutical firm GSK in the U.S.
Trump said, 'It’s an unbreakable bond we have. Regardless of what we’re doing today, I think it’s unbreakable.' He also thanked Starmer and his wife, Victoria, for welcoming him at Chequers, the countryside residence of the U.K. Prime Minister. He went on to pay tribute to King Charles III and Queen Camilla for hosting him and Melania at Windsor Castle, and said he would be forever thankful to the king for the 'fantastic' time he had at the state banquet.
Officials described the agreement as a milestone in the U.K.-U.S. economic partnership and said the scope of the deal signals a new level of collaboration in technology and related sectors. While the package spans multiple industries, its emphasis on cross-border investment reflects a shared objective of expanding growth, jobs, and innovation on both sides of the Atlantic.
