TIME Convenes Leaders Taking Action Toward A More Sustainable World for Second TIME100 Climate Leadership Forum

TIME convened the second annual TIME100 Climate Leadership Forum in New York City, bringing together leaders from the TIME and TIME100 Climate communities and other prominent voices at the forefront of climate action. The event highlighted solutions and concrete steps toward a greener, more resilient future as governments, businesses and civil society seek to advance decarbonization, resilience and sustainable development.

The forum featured conversations designed to connect policy, finance, technology and conservation. In the POWERING THE FUTURE: DRIVING THE GREEN REVOLUTION track, Arunabha Ghosh, chief executive of the Council on Energy, Environment and Water and special envoy for South Asia for COP30; Jon Creyts, chief executive officer of the Rocky Mountain Institute; Damilola Ogunbiyi, chief executive officer and special representative of the U.N. Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All; and Andrew Forrest, executive chairman and founder of Fortescue, participated in a session moderated by TIME senior correspondent Justin Worland. The discussion explored how governments, industry and investors can accelerate a global energy transition, scale clean energy deployments and spur investment in low-carbon solutions as part of broader economic growth.

A CONVERSATION WITH SYLVIA EARLE featured Sylvia Earle, explorer-at-large for National Geographic and founder and chair of Mission Blue, in a discussion moderated by TIME editorial director Lucy Feldman. The conversation examined ocean health, climate resilience and the critical role of marine ecosystems in carbon storage and coastal protection, underscoring the need for innovative financing and policy mechanisms to safeguard blue habitats while supporting sustainable livelihoods for coastal communities.

INNOVATING FOR IMPACT: CLIMATE AS COMPETITIVE EDGE gathered leaders from finance, energy and life sciences, including Wally Adeyemo, former deputy secretary and chief operating officer of the U.S. Treasury; Greg Jackson, founder and chief executive officer of Octopus Energy; and Pam Cheng, executive vice president, global operations, information technology and chief sustainability officer at AstraZeneca. Moderated by Shyla Raghav, TIME’s chief climate officer, the session focused on how climate-smart business models, aligned policy frameworks and transparent reporting can create competitive advantage while delivering measurable decarbonization outcomes.

We are honored to convene remarkable leaders and innovators driving real solutions at the forefront of climate action for the second TIME100 Climate Leadership Forum, said TIME Chief Executive Officer Jessica Sibley. Our commitment to spotlighting urgent climate challenges and recognizing those who are shaping a more sustainable future is core to our mission at TIME. Thank you to our partners at Rolex, AstraZeneca and Fortescue who support us in this shared mission.

At TIME, our mission is to tell the essential stories of the people and ideas shaping our future. The TIME100 Climate Leadership Forum builds on that mission, bringing our solutions-focused climate journalism to life and spotlighting the leaders and organizations driving meaningful progress, said TIME Executive Editor and Chief Strategy Officer Dan Macsai.

Now in its second year, the TIME100 Climate Leadership Forum builds on TIME’s commitment to sustainability through initiatives like the annual TIME100 Climate list—set to be released this fall and the TIME Earth Awards, which recognize individuals building a better future for the planet. The TIME100 Climate Leadership Forum is presented by official timepiece Rolex and signature partners AstraZeneca and Fortescue.
