Alabama Barker defends sharing pregnancy loss against critics
The 19-year-old lashes out at accusations of exploiting her miscarriage, saying her journey is not a performance

Alabama Barker is speaking out after being criticized for announcing a pregnancy loss in a way some users said sought attention. The 19-year-old daughter of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler addressed the backlash in an Instagram Story that has since been deleted, which The Shade Room captured.
"The idea that I'd ever share something so personal for attention is insane," she wrote in the Story. "Accident or not, I don't need to prove myself by posting. My journey is my own, not a performative and not because someone else shared theirs."
Her latest posts followed a TikTok video in which she appeared to acknowledge the loss, telling followers: "You know ever since I lost my baby, got cheated on, while also getting hated on, I'd get this feeling like …. I'll never be the same person again." The clip included tearful moments and a window-selfie showing her stomach. Days later, Barker said she would be stepping back from social media: "I'm deleting my tik tok for a little while love you guys be back soon!" and she posted a similar message on Instagram: "Deleting instagram for a little while, be back soon love you guys."
She briefly returned Friday with a carousel of outfit photos, though the comments section appeared disabled before the post was deleted; she later reshared the same images on her Instagram Stories and urged followers to follow her on Snapchat.
Alabama Barker is the 19-year-old daughter of Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler, with a burgeoning social media presence that includes about 5.6 million TikTok followers and 2.2 million Instagram followers. She is the younger sister of Landon Barker and the stepdaughter of Kourtney Kardashian.
Earlier this year, she denied rumors that she had secretly become pregnant by rapper Tyga after a fallout with Bhad Bhabie (Danielle Bregoli), posting: "Let's clear this up! I never in my life have remotely been near Tyga. I've also never been pregnant, nor do I know Soulja Boy. The end." She followed up, "I have never been pregnant, never had an abortion, and have never been alone with Tyga or Soulja Boy … I won't continue to entertain this nonsense, but this will be the last time I address pathetic lies." Late last month, she was spotted cheering at a USC football game in the stands, wearing a cutout halter top, a dark red mini skirt, and a Dolce & Gabbana leather jacket. Earlier this year, she released a diss track Cry Bhabie, which debuted at No. 5 on the U.S. Spotify Viral 100 chart. The situation underscores how closely her public life is followed and debated within celebrity culture.
The ongoing conversation around sharing personal grief on social media continues to unfold for Barker and other young stars, with supportive messages from fans mingling with online scrutiny. In a landscape where personal moments are routinely broadcast, Barker’s latest statement adds to the discourse on privacy, consent, and the boundaries of public sympathy in entertainment culture.
