Alabama Barker denies pregnancy-loss reveal was for attention, says her journey is her own
The 19-year-old responds to critics amid a string of personal posts and rumors about her private life
Alabama Barker, 19, pushed back Thursday on criticisms that she disclosed a pregnancy loss to gain attention, saying the claim was insane and that her journey is her own and not performative. In a since-deleted Instagram Story, Barker wrote, “The idea that I’d ever share something so personal for attention is insane. Accident or not, I don’t need to prove myself by posting. My journey is my own, not a performative and not because someone else shared theirs,” per the Shade Room. Reps for Barker weren’t immediately available to comment when contacted by Page Six.
The teenage daughter of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker spoke out after seeming to announce she had “lost” her baby in a now-deleted TikTok post. “You know ever since I lost my baby, got cheated on, while also getting hated on, I’d get this feeling like …. I’ll never be the same person again,” she wrote in a video montage. “Accident or not, I don’t need to prove myself by posting,” she added. One clip showed Barker caressing her bump in the reflection of a glass door, while other footage depicted her crying. Barker later told her roughly 2.2 million followers on Instagram that she was “deleting” the platform “for a little while.” Last week, Barker shared a now-deleted TikTok video that she had “lost” her baby.
Barker’s Instagram hiatus was short-lived, as she announced on Saturday that she would be live-streaming on Twitch on Sept. 27. The singer’s posts have also drawn scrutiny amid online rumors. In January, Bhad Bhabie accused Barker of being pregnant with Tyga’s baby and having relations with Soulja Boy; Barker responded to the chatter on TikTok, saying, “Let’s clear this up. I never in my life have remotely been near Tyga.” She also posted that she had never been pregnant and did not know Soulja Boy, adding, “The end.” Footage circulated online at the time, though Barker’s representatives did not comment.
Elsewhere in her social-media arc, Barker previously dated UCLA football player Scooter Jackson, whom she accused of cheating in March, per Complex. More recently, Barker appeared to nod to a new relationship by sharing a care package she had made for her rumored boyfriend’s birthday, a post that kept her fans guessing about her dating life.
