Olympic figure skater Alysa Liu has announced she will change her short program music for the 2025-26 season amid a murder investigation involving pop singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. A 15-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas, was found dead in the trunk of d4vd’s impounded Tesla earlier this month, prompting Los Angeles police detectives to treat the case as a homicide investigation. Liu’s team told the Associated Press on Wednesday that she will not use the previously planned music, citing the ongoing news cycle and a desire to align her routine with her values.
Liu, 20, had been preparing a short program set to This Is How It Feels, a collaboration between d4vd and Icelandic artist Laufey, for the upcoming season. In a statement to the AP, she said:
