Andy Cohen credits Bravo reunion for weight-loss drug transformation

Andy Cohen says a May Bravo reunion moment prompted him to start a weight-loss regimen. The Watch What Happens Live host told NBC's Today show on Friday that he began taking a GLP-1 weight-loss drug after realizing he did not look his best during The Valley Season 2 reunion, filmed in May and aired in July. Cohen, 57, said the moment sparked a real lifestyle shift, and he has since begun a fitness journey that includes microdosing the medication and tightening his diet.

Cohen recalled that being on camera can be a harsh mirror: he said he could not button his suits, and it was terrible watching himself on monitors every day. The reunion was filmed in May and aired two months later. He said the changes he began through the drug, paired with a stricter diet and workout plan, marked the start of the transformation.

Cohen discussed the weight-loss plan on his Radio Andy show earlier this month, saying he had been unhappy with his weight and that his doctor recommended GLP-1 therapy to address weight and related health issues such as arterial plaque and high blood pressure. He said he briefly peaked at nearly 190 pounds at his all-time high, then shed about 25 pounds after starting semaglutide. He noted that six years earlier he had dropped 12 pounds by cutting back on alcohol. He described microdosing as helping curb cravings and making him more disciplined about food and workouts.

Two children—son Benjamin, 6, and daughter Lucy, 3—serve as a key motivation in his ongoing health journey, Cohen said Friday. He emphasized the continued nature of the pursuit and his effort to be healthier for his kids while cameras continue to track his daily routine on WWHL and related projects.

The story adds to a broader spotlight on reality TV weight-loss journeys, and underscores Cohen's ongoing public discussion of his health and fitness.
