Binky Felstead says younger self would be horrified by mum life, but happily ever after is here
Made In Chelsea alum discusses motherhood, social-media pressures, and finding balance with family and fame

Binky Felstead says her younger self would be horrified by the life she leads today—a mum of three in southwest London who swapped the Chelsea party days for a quieter family routine with husband Max Darnton. The former Made In Chelsea star, who quit the reality series in 2017 to focus on her pregnancy and first child India, has since built a name as a "mum influencer" and returned to TV with Beyond Chelsea. She spoke to Daily Mail at the Disney Store Selfridges Key Opening Ceremony this week, reflecting on the notions of happily ever after and what keeps her family grounded amid the chaos.
Her most mum life moment, she said, was probably being covered in glitter and stickers before 8am and not even questioning it. 'My younger self would be horrified but now it just feels normal. That's the reality of motherhood and I wouldn't change it for the world,' she admitted.
Felstead described her vision of happily ever after as the simple things: being at home together, everyone healthy, and laughing around the table. 'It's also getting out and about in our local area and enjoying that lovely sense of community we're lucky to have close by. That's our happily ever after. It doesn't need to be fancy, it just needs to be full of love,' she said.
To other parents going through the same chaotic phase, she offered practical tips, including carving out 'me-time' every day. 'I sneak in early morning workouts or a quiet coffee before the kids wake up,' she said. 'It's small, but it makes a huge difference to my mood for the day. Even ten minutes of calm can reset me for the chaos ahead.'
Felstead urged others not to compare themselves to others on social media, noting that 'what matters is finding what works for you' and that 'we’re all muddling through. Be kind to yourself, and remember your kids just want your love and attention – not perfection.' Her Instagram page, which has about 1.4 million followers, reflects a candid blend of family life and fashion.
She and her two-year-old son Wilder recently helped headline the opening of a new Disney Store at Selfridges, taking part in the store’s Key Ceremony. After a busy day, the Felstead-Darnton clan unwind by cuddling on the sofa and watching a Disney film; she says this ritual acts like pressing pause on a hectic schedule and helps them reconnect.
Disney Store London opens on Sept. 25, with Manchester Trafford Centre following on Sept. 29 and Birmingham Bullring and Manchester Exchange scheduled for Oct. 13, according to the retailer. Felstead described the opening as a family moment with Wilder, a scene she said resonates with the broader appeal of the brand as a space where families can share moments of chaos and magic.
