Candace Cameron Bure says LA changes spurred move as celeb exodus grows

Candace Cameron Bure says drastic changes in the makeup of her hometown of Los Angeles helped drive her decision to leave the area, she explained during a Thursday Instagram Q&A. The Full House alum, 49, noted that she still loves Southern California but that L.A. is not the same since she grew up there, and especially since 2020.

Born in the Los Angeles-area suburb Panorama City, Bure said she now prefers a smaller town where people really do know your name, a factor she says has given her confidence in the move. She posted a photo from her current home and described the beauty of small-town life as a key appeal alongside the slower pace.

She is a mother to Natasha, 27; Lev, 25; and Maksim, 23, with her husband Valeri Bure, 51. The couple wed on June 22, 1996, and are gearing up for their 30th anniversary next year. In June, she recalled their romance: they first connected at a charity hockey game in Los Angeles, and 30 years ago on June 20 they got engaged in Paris; 29 years ago on June 22 they were married. She ended with a note of affection for her partner.

In addition to her acting work, Bure hosts a podcast about lifestyle, family and religion, where she has previously shared glimpses into her routines and traditions. When asked about her favorite family tradition, she replied that Sunday dinners are a staple, accompanied by a photo of an outdoor table set with meat and vegetables.

On fitness, she said she has increased her weightlifting program to four heavy sessions per week, adds cardio twice weekly, and has remained consistent with the routine over the past year, often working out alongside her husband.

The move by Bure sits within a broader pattern of celebrities relocating away from Southern California, a trend cited by observers amid shifts in the entertainment landscape since the early 2020s.
