Charlie Sheen questions 9/11 official narrative on Tucker Carlson during promo for The Book of Sheen

Charlie Sheen says he still questions the official narrative surrounding the September 11 attacks, telling Tucker Carlson on Carlson's show Friday that he would submit to the official story only if two questions could be satisfactorily explained. The Two and a Half Men star, 60, promoted his new book, The Book of Sheen, during the appearance and said, "There's something about that that's weird." He told Carlson he would accept the narrative if two issues could be resolved: the fate of the Pentagon strike and the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 (WTC 7).

During the interview, Sheen argued that there are unresolved questions about how the Pentagon was struck and why WTC 7 fell hours after the Twin Towers. He emphasized that his concerns center on the credibility of the official explanations and said that if those two points could be clarified, he would be willing to accept the commonly cited account.

NIST, the federal agency that investigated the collapse of the World Trade Center, has explained that WTC 7 collapsed due to the thermal expansion of steel columns after fires on multiple floors. The agency noted that some floor temperatures reached about 1,100 degrees Fahrenheit, and that the sprinkler system failed because a water main broke when the towers collapsed, allowing heat to continue to rise and causing beams to buckle and ultimately fail. The explanation emphasizes a fire-driven collapse rather than a controlled demolition.

Sheen told Carlson that despite the NIST account, he continues to doubt the event's explanation. He recalled that discussions of his questions have faced backlash, with critics arguing that questioning the tragedy disrespects its victims. "For years, that was always met with that is disrespecting the victims," he said, adding that he is simply seeking the truth behind events that, in his view, have not been fully explained. "If you're just looking for the truth behind what is clearly not how it was explained," he said, he would reconsider his stance.

The 9/11 attacks occurred in the morning of September 11, 2001, when hijacked planes struck the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Virginia. A fourth plane crashed in Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to regain control from the hijackers. Official tallies put the total number of fatalities at 2,996, including 2,977 victims and 19 hijackers. The events precipitated widespread changes in aviation security and U.S. foreign policy.

The Book of Sheen, which Sheen promoted on Carlson's program, tackles a range of topics beyond his 9/11 remarks and positions the actor as a public figure willing to challenge established narratives in contemporary culture and entertainment.
