Chloë Grace Moretz comments on wedding to Kate Harrison during Today show appearance

Chloë Grace Moretz offered a rare public remark about her wedding to Kate Harrison on Monday, while promoting her latest projects on the Today show. The 28-year-old actress described the ceremony as a “dreamy” moment that took place earlier this month, saying she tied the knot over Labor Day weekend. Moretz and Harrison began dating in 2018 and announced their engagement on January 1, 2025; Harrison is a model, and the couple has largely kept their romance out of the spotlight.

Moretz spoke about the wedding in the context of a demanding work period, noting that she had just filmed a summer project and was rehearsing for another, both of which she described as not lighthearted. “Between the film I filmed this summer, called The Edge of Normal, and then doing rehearsals on this project — which is also not a lighthearted project — and then going away and having a dreamy wedding,” she said, referencing her off-Broadway play Caroline. “I think it's such a funny juxtaposition of being an actor... we're going and playing these dark characters, then we're going and having the most monumental moments of our life happen,” she added. “It was a wonderful break and a nice juxtaposition, for sure.”

Ahead of the wedding, Vogue reported that the couple aimed to personalize the event around their shared interests. The pair invited guests to participate in activities they love, including fishing, horseback riding and poker; Kate reportedly crafted a custom poker mat for the celebration, and the second day was planned to include line dancing. Both brides enlisted Louis Vuitton for their wedding-day ensembles, with separate outfits for the ceremony and reception. Moretz wore a blue gown inspired by Old Hollywood, a choice she described as feeling like “me” and not fitting the conventional white-dress bridal mold.

“I never saw myself as a ‘white dress bride,’” Moretz said. “It just feels like me, and I knew I would do something non-traditional, and not wear white, and kind of have it feel different, and I think it really does.” The couple’s choice to wear Louis Vuitton outfits reflected a coordinated yet individualized approach to the big day. The relationship has remained largely private since it began in 2018, with Moretz emphasizing that the most important part of the marriage is the daily commitment to choose each other going forward.

Beyond the wedding updates, Moretz has continued to promote her acting work this fall, including projects tied to The Edge of Normal and her off-Broadway appearance in Caroline. She framed the wedding as a meaningful break that provided a joyful contrast to the darker roles she has explored on screen and stage, demonstrating how personal milestones can unfold within the rhythm of a busy professional life.
