Claudia Winkleman, the Traitors host, has quietly acquired a historic manor in the Cotswolds valued at about £3 million, giving her a private country bolthole amid her TV work.

According to a Daily Mail report by Alison Boshoff, the property is described by friends as a private castle and anchors Winkleman and her family in a region long favored by Britain’s showbiz set. The move adds a country residence to the presenter’s London life, where she is often seen on screen during major TV bursts.

Friends say she and husband Kris Thykier have a long term rental on the property and moved in about three years ago. The couple are part of a social circle that includes Guy Ritchie and are said to enjoy shooting parties at Ritchie's Ashcombe Park estate. Ritchie bought that property during his marriage to Madonna, and Winkleman and Thykier were among the wedding guests at the Skibo Castle ceremony in December 2000. Thykier has produced films including Madonna s W E. Claudia and Kris raised their three children Jake, 22; Matilda, 19; and Arthur, 14, in London near Marble Arch before the countryside move.

The couple s growing country footprint comes as Winkleman remains a busy television presence. She is set to appear weekly on Strictly Come Dancing through December, and from October 8 will also be seen on the BBC in The Celebrity Traitors, a show featuring Alan Carr and Stephen Fry. Winkleman recently left the talent agency YMU and is now represented by Little Arrow, a firm founded by Thykier and her former agent Holly Bott.

Kris Thykier continues to work in film; his latest project Is This Thing On?, a drama starring Bradley Cooper, will premiere on October 10 at the New York Film Festival. He has previously produced Kick-Ass, Operation Mincemeat and Luther The Fallen Sun.

The Cotswolds residence places Winkleman among a constellation of country house neighbors and show business friends who mingle rural living with top tier entertainment work, underscoring her status as one of Britain s most recognizable TV personalities.
