D4vd Breaks $20,000 Hollywood Hills Lease as Police Raid Ties Home to Missing Teen Case

D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, and his manager, Josh Marshall, abruptly terminated their $20,000-a-month Hollywood Hills lease days after Los Angeles police raided the property in connection with the case involving a missing teen whose dismembered remains were found in the trunk of Burke's Tesla. The remains of Celeste Rivas, 13, were discovered Sept. 8 in the front trunk of an impounded car registered to Burke. The vehicle had been left abandoned near Doheny Place and Bluebird Avenue, close to the four-bedroom rental where Burke had been staying. LAPD officers stormed the home on Sept. 17, seizing several items of evidence, including a laptop. Police confirmed the raid is tied to Rivas’ disappearance and suspected murder, though no charges have been filed.

Homeowner Mladen Trifunovic told the Daily Mail that Marshall signed the February 2024 lease, the same month Rivas was first reported missing from her Lake Elsinore family home. Trifunovic said he did not know Burke or that he was living at the property until the raid was disclosed by the real estate manager. Following the raid, the two tenants began moving out, with moving trucks reportedly expected this week as they sever ties with the home. The property is in a secure Hollywood Hills neighborhood, and Trifunovic said he hoped investigators would uncover what happened.

Burke has not publicly commented on the discovery. He was away on the U.S. leg of his Withered World Tour when the discovery was made. Burke canceled the remaining dates of the tour, including stops in the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia, as investigators pursue leads in the case. A representative for Burke previously said he was cooperating with investigators, and Burke has since retained top Hollywood attorney Blair Berk, who has not responded to requests for comment.

Berk, a high-profile attorney, has represented figures such as Prince Andrew and Kanye West. Burke’s team has not offered public remarks since the raid, and there is no indication that charges have been filed against him or any other party connected to the case.

LAPD officials said the search of Burke’s rental yielded several items of evidence that will be analyzed in the coming days as detectives continue to follow multiple leads. The investigation remains active, with investigators focusing on how Rivas disappeared and why her remains ended up in Burke’s Tesla.

A vigil for Celeste Rivas was held outside her family home on Sunday, as mourners lit candles and remembered her as a “bright and bubbly” teen. A GoFundMe page set up by family members described her as a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend and seeks support for funeral expenses. Family members have urged transparency as the investigation unfolds.

The Daily Mail’s reporting notes social-media images showing Burke with a young woman who resembles Rivas, though investigators have not publicly confirmed any verified relationship. Family members have also said they became aware of Burke’s involvement only after the raid and cautioned that details remain under review by authorities.

The Hollywood Hills rental, valued at about $4.1 million, sits in a neighborhood known for privacy and security. Public property records show the home’s past ownership includes a former owner noted in real estate listings, and the site has drawn interest as investigators assess whether more individuals were involved. It was unclear whether detectives plan to return to the property or search further as the case continues to develop.

As investigators pursue leads, Burke’s public statements have been sparse. In the wake of the case, music industry observers noted the cancellation of remaining tour dates and the shelving of a deluxe album by Interscope Records, though representatives did not specify connections to the ongoing inquiry. The music community and Burke’s fans have been watching closely for any official updates from law enforcement or Burke’s legal team.
