Ed Sheeran has extended his Suffolk estate by purchasing a nearby £1 million Grade II-listed farmhouse, converting it into what is described as a dedicated man cave to complement his vast Sheeranville property. The Shape of You singer, 34, has spent years expanding the grounds around his £3.7 million country estate in Suffolk, which already features a pub, a tree house, a swimming pool, an underground music room and a cinema with a 35-by-20-foot screen. The latest purchase, located a short distance from Sheeranville, is being developed into a space that will include a gym, a bar and a bowling alley, with several barns on the land being repurposed for music and entertainment use.

A source said the Grade II-listed farmhouse and its surrounding land were bought to create 'another home from home,' with one of the barns already being converted into a recording studio. The piggery on the site has reportedly been transformed into the sort of entertainment hub the singer has been cultivating for years, including a bar, gym, pool table and bowling alley. The project fits with a broader expansion of Sheeranville that has included the development of on-site amenities such as a private pub in the grounds, which Sheeran has previously used for Zoom interviews during lockdown.

Industry observers have noted Sheeran’s growing landholdings around his Suffolk base, part of a property portfolio the star has built over the past decade. Net worth estimates place him around £200 million, and reports peg his portfolio at roughly £70 million in value across 27 properties since 2012, with holdings ranging from flats in London to substantial country estates. The acquisitions have not been without controversy, and the singer has in the past clashed with neighbours over land and development rights, a friction that has persisted as he expands his footprint.

The sprawling property activity comes as Sheeran has signaled a future based outside the United Kingdom. In a recent podcast interview, he said he planned to relocate to the United States for the foreseeable future, though he has continued to spend much of his time in Suffolk with wife Cherry Seaborn and their daughters Lyra and Jupiter. He has also recently purchased a large home in New York, reported to be valued at around £9 million, and has spoken about possible moves to Nashville as part of a potential transition into country music.

The move abroad follows one of the singer’s more public discussions of his cultural identity. In a separate interview, he said he identifies culturally as Irish, due in part to his father’s Belfast roots and his upbringing around Irish traditions, even as he was born and raised in England. He stressed that identity is a personal reflection of heritage and upbringing, not a political declaration.

Ed Sheeran has built a widely documented property empire since 2012, a portfolio that has grown to include multiple residences across London and the countryside. While he has shown a clear preference for unique, self-contained properties—often with entertainment options—his expansion has attracted attention from local communities and prompted discussions about development and land use near his rural estate.
