Elliot Page and Julia Shiplett make red carpet debut at Milan Fashion Week

Elliot Page and his girlfriend Julia Shiplett made their red carpet debut at the Gucci Spring/Summer 2026 photocall during Milan Fashion Week on Tuesday, marking Page's first public relationship since he came out as a transgender man in December 2020.

Page arrived in a navy pinstripe blazer with dark trousers and a white shirt, while Shiplett wore a forest green striped blouse paired with a matching skirt and black open-toe heels. Her hair was styled in a bob, and she carried a black handbag as the duo posed for photographers at the event.

Page first confirmed the romance with Shiplett in June, posting a photo of the couple cuddling on a rainbow-painted street. Shiplett later made the relationship public on her Instagram Stories, sharing a video of Page shirtless with the caption “happy prideee.” This marks Page’s first public romance since his gender transition.

Historically, Page has discussed his journey openly. Before transitioning, he identified as a lesbian and publicly came out in 2020. He married Emma Portner in 2018; the couple announced their separation the following year and later confirmed their divorce in 2021. Page has also spoken about private dating life in recent years, noting that he had been enjoying an active love life privately, a sentiment echoed in interviews and his memoirs. In his memoir Pageboy, he describes a past secret romance with a closeted actress from his early career.

Shiplett is an actress known for her work on the Amazon Prime sitcom Overcompensating. The couple’s appearance in Milan comes amid Page’s ongoing public life in the wake of his transition and his continued work in film.

On the work front, Page remains attached to high-profile projects. He is connected to an adaptation of The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan, whom he previously collaborated with on Inception. The project is described as a star-studded production featuring Matt Damon as Odysseus and Tom Holland as his son Telemachus. The cast also includes Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron and Lupita Nyong’o. Filming began in February and is expected to continue with a projected release date in the summer of 2026.

The Milan appearance underscores Page's ongoing public life and personal evolution as he navigates new relationships and high-profile projects in the culture and entertainment landscape.
