Ex-Astronomer CEO and HR Exec Caught on Coldplay Kisscam: New Report Says They Were Just Friends

A viral kisscam moment at a Coldplay concert in Gillette Stadium has taken a new turn, with a report alleging that ex-Astronomer CEO Andy Bryon and Kristin Cabot, the company’s former chief people officer, were simply friends when they were filmed canoodling on the jumbotron. The moment occurred on July 16, during a night out with a large group of friends, when the jumbotron cut to Bryon and Cabot and the two leaned toward each other before briefly ducking out of view.

Bryon and Cabot subsequently resigned from their posts at the New York–based AI-focused firm after the incident drew widespread online attention. The moment itself appeared casual: the pair were among friends, not attendees in a company box or a company-sponsored event, and they were seen attempting to shield their faces as chatter and speculation swirled online. Lead singer Chris Martin was heard reacting to the moment, prompting questions about what had just occurred.

A People magazine source said Cabot and Bryon had an excellent working relationship and described their interaction as a close friendship. The source emphasized that there was no affair, stating, “Kristin and Andy had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship.” The People report also quoted, “There was no affair.”

The People account also notes that Cabot and her husband, Andrew, had been living apart at the time and that Cabot’s husband was at the Coldplay concert “on a date.” The account said the event occurred in a social setting, described as a night with a big group of friends rather than a company function, and that the moment itself was not appropriate in hindsight.

Meanwhile, a separate report from the New York Post offered a different framing, quoting a witness who suggested that the moment could be explained by nerves or misread signals, saying, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” The Post’s piece also frames Bryon and Cabot as two high-profile figures whose private lives have repeatedly drawn public scrutiny, regardless of the specifics of this incident.

The two executives remain at the center of ongoing coverage in entertainment and business media, illustrating how a single, highly public moment can escalate into a broader narrative about workplace relationships and personal boundaries. The company’s leadership changes and the competing interpretations of what happened at Gillette Stadium continue to attract attention from both technology press and lifestyle outlets, underscoring the cross-section of culture and celebrity in the tech era.
