Former Home and Away star David Jones-Roberts resurfaces in LA with shredded physique

David Jones-Roberts, 35, the former Home and Away fan favorite who played Xavier Austin from 2008 to 2012, resurfaced in Los Angeles this week showing a markedly shredded physique. The Australian actor's latest posts have drawn renewed attention to his post-soap career and fitness journey. Jones-Roberts left the long-running Seven soap in 2012 and has since kept a relatively low public profile, though he has intermittently shared updates with fans.

In an Instagram post this week, he released a side-by-side photo set that contrasted a former self with a much more defined, six-pack display in a gym locker-room mirror. In the caption, he explains that discipline and consistency have transformed more than just looks. 'On the left: lacked discipline, low motivation,' he wrote. 'On the right: proof that with a little mindset shift and better choices, everything can change – not just physically, but mentally, too.'

Jones-Roberts moved to Los Angeles after leaving Home and Away in 2012. While his TV credits are sparse, IMDb lists three projects in production, including Pretty Boy Delaney. Outside acting, he has built a following around fitness and cooking, regularly sharing workout clips and recipes on Instagram and TikTok. He also lists property development as his occupation, linking to an Airbnb property in Landers, California, near Joshua Tree.

His life in LA has not been without danger. In 2018 he survived a horror motorcycle crash on Melrose Avenue after a car pulled out, leaving him 'flying.' A firefighter at the scene told the actor, 'You should be dead.' Jones-Roberts later told New Idea that he tore the quadriceps tendon in his left leg and had to undergo surgery within 48 hours to avoid lasting damage. He had just been returning to LA after filming an episode in Canada for the Stan series iZombie.

Before that, he rose to household name status in Australia for four years on Home and Away. In July 2012, he announced his departure, thanking fans on Twitter: 'Just wanted to say thanks to all my fans out there for your continued support throughout the years. Truly wouldn't be where I am without you guys.'

Today, Jones-Roberts remains active in Los Angeles’ entertainment and wellness spheres, often sharing workouts and cooking tips with his growing online following. IMDb still lists three projects in production, signaling that the former soap star continues to balance acting ambitions with entrepreneurship and personal fitness in a city known for reinvention.
