Guilfoyle's reported reaction to Trump Jr.'s engagement surfaces in tabloid coverage

A Daily Mail report details Kimberly Guilfoyle's allegedly heated reaction to Donald Trump Jr.'s engagement to Bettina Anderson, which was celebrated in private at Camp David with about 20 close friends. No photos from the moment were released. The Daily Mail quotes a source familiar with the gathering as saying Don Jr invited a small group to celebrate quietly with the couple at the presidential retreat.

An Athens embassy source described Guilfoyle as agitated by the news, saying she has been ill-tempered and has yelled at meetings, and that she arrived late to a Christmas party, not the usual social butterfly. The source noted Guilfoyle, now 56, has been married twice before—first to California governor Gavin Newsom (2001–2006) and then to businessman Eric Villency (2006–2009)—and that the couple share a son, Ronan, born in October 2006.

Public records show Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. began dating in 2018 and were engaged by December 2020. In April 2021 they bought a $10 million Jupiter, Florida mansion together, a property that remained jointly owned as they discussed what to do if they eventually split. The engagement was called off in 2024, and Trump Jr. has since been linked to Bettina Anderson, reportedly living with her at her Palm Beach townhouse since the beginning of 2025, according to Page Six.

A People magazine source said Guilfoyle expressed concern about Bettina and warned of red flags attached to the bride-to-be, while noting she still wants what is best for Don but questions whether the relationship is built to last. Another insider said Guilfoyle has also voiced criticism of Lara Trump, Eric Trump’s wife, who earlier was named head of the Republican National Committee; Guilfoyle reportedly felt Lara got the RNC co-chair role over her.

Reached by the Daily Mail for comment, Guilfoyle declined to respond. A Trump family insider told the outlet that, despite the reportedly turbulent optics, those close to Don Jr. have described him as exceptionally happy with Anderson, adding that the couple share interests and enjoy outdoor activities together.
