Guinness Descendants Lead London Premiere of Netflix’s House Of Guinness

Real-life members of the Guinness brewing dynasty attended Tuesday night's premiere of Netflix's House Of Guinness at Picturehouse Central in London. The eight-episode drama traces the Guinness family’s ascent in 19th-century Dublin and New York and explores how wealth, power and private sorrow shaped the dynasty.

Leading the guest list were Lady Mary Charteris, Daphne Guinness, Edward, the 4th Earl of Iveagh, Ivana Lowell, Jasmine Guinness and Celeste Guinness. Lady Mary, the youngest child of James Charteris and his first wife Catherine (the daughter of Guinness heir Jonathan Guinness, 3rd Baron Moyne), wore a sheer black knitted dress with multiple cutouts and metallic detailing. Daphne Guinness, the granddaughter of Diana Mitford, arrived in an elegant black frock coat with a ruffled neck and matching shorts, paired with towering platform heels and a metallic glove. Jasmine Guinness opted for a black, one-shouldered gown with Grecian drapery, while Ivana Lowell chose a lacy black dress encrusted with crystals. Celeste Guinness Channelled a punk mood in a black satin suit adorned with Guinness-themed patches and safety pins, opening her jacket for a bold, bare-chested moment.

Beyond the Guinness family members, the premiere drew the drama’s broader cast. James Norton was on hand to discuss his role as Sean Rafferty, a brewery foreman whose presence anchors the series’ central conflicts. The cast also features Fionn O’Shea and Louis Partridge as Arthur and Edward Guinness, Emily Fairn as Anne, Dervla Kirwan, and Jack Gleeson, among others. Ivana Lowell helped shape the project’s voice, with Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, serving as writer and executive producer.

House Of Guinness is framed as a saga of wealth, influence and tragedy, beginning in the wake of Sir Benjamin Guinness’s death and tracing how his will reshapes the lives of his four children and the Dublin figures who work with the family empire in Ireland and the United States. Netflix describes the eight-part series as an epic inspired by one of Europe’s most famous dynasties, seeking to balance historical ruthlessness with human complexity. The show is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 25.

The Guinness story is famous for its extraordinary fortune, estimated today at more than £900 million, and for a string of public and private tragedies that have fed the dynasty’s enduring mystique. Creator Steven Knight has said the project aims to bring to life a tapestry of wealth, power and vulnerability, reflecting both the brilliance and the flaws of a family that built a global brand while weathering personal losses. The series’ production draws on decades of family history, weaving documented episodes with dramatized characters to offer a fuller portrait of the Guinness legacy.
