Actor to be honored March 1 at SAG-AFTRA’s 32nd Actor Awards; ceremony to stream on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium

Harrison Ford to Receive SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award

LOS ANGELES — Harrison Ford will receive SAG-AFTRA's Life Achievement Award in March, with the 32nd Actor Awards ceremony set for March 1 and the event to be streamed live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall.

"Harrison Ford is a singular presence in American life; an actor whose iconic characters have shaped world culture," the union's president, Sean Astin, said in a statement Thursday. "We are honored to celebrate a legend whose impact on our craft is indelible."

Ford, 83, has a six-decade career that has made him one of the most recognizable figures in global cinema. He became a worldwide star as Han Solo in the 1977 film Star Wars, reprising the role across multiple installments as the franchise expanded. As the adventuring archaeologist Indiana Jones, he launched another enduring franchise in 1981 with Raiders of the Lost Ark. He also starred in two Blade Runner installments as Rick Deckard and has appeared in a broad array of television projects.

Throughout the years, Ford has earned numerous accolades, including the Critics Choice Career Achievement Award (2024), Golden Globes Cecil B. DeMille Award (2002), and the AFI Life Achievement Award (2000), among others. In announcing the award, SAG-AFTRA framed the Life Achievement honor as recognizing an actor who embodies the finest ideals of the acting profession and whose work extends to humanitarian and environmental causes.

"I am deeply honored to be chosen as this year's recipient of the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award," Ford said in the statement. "To be acknowledged by my fellow actors means a great deal to me. I've spent most of my life on film sets, working alongside incredible actors and crews, and I've always felt grateful to be part of this community."

The SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award is presented by the union to actors who exemplify the profession's highest standards and whose careers have had a lasting impact on the industry and audiences alike. The March 1 ceremony will be televised as part of the Actors Awards lineup and is expected to attract colleagues from across Ford's film and television work.
