Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo reveal fate-led £12M London home ahead of first child's birth
After four years of house-hunting, the Made in Chelsea duo unveil a renovated London property as they prepare to welcome their first child; a grandmother’s tip and a tense viewing aligned their fortunes.

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo say fate helped secure their dream home, a London property believed to be worth about £12 million, just as they prepare to welcome their first child. After four years of searching, the former Made in Chelsea stars unveiled the property on Thursday following a 14-month renovation.
In a joint interview with The Standard, the couple described how an article about their fruitless house-hunting journey landed in the hands of the previous owner's grandmother. She phoned her grandson to say she had found ideal buyers, and Habboo and Laing happened to book a viewing on the same day. When we walked in, I was not sure at first, Laing recalled. Sophie turned to me and said, 'If we do not put an offer in, I am going to divorce you.' The couple submitted an offer by the end of the day.
The 14-month renovation transformed a previously empty shell into a split-level, open-plan kitchen, dining and living space that now serves as the couple’s heart of the home. Laing led followers on a social-media tour, showing the before and after: from bare rooms with dangling light fixtures to a bright, marble-topped kitchen island, a stainless steel American-style fridge freezer, and warm lighting that highlights white timber panels on a high ceiling. Four skylights flood the room with natural light, and curved arched door frames connect the kitchen to a pantry while the living area sits on a raised level to provide a sense of separation between zones.
Sophie explained to The Standard that the kitchen was the most important room to get right, saying: 'I always wanted a massive kitchen with a big island. For me, that is the heart of the home.' Jamie, meanwhile, admits his own indulgence lies in a cinema room that he says is perfect for curling up with popcorn. It features high-end speakers, a bar, and jars of Candy Kittens, his confectionery brand. Yet the space wasn’t a pure fantasy: Sophie quipped that the cinema was a compromise, noting that Jamie had originally dreamed of a golf simulator in the basement.
The couple’s romance evolved from friendship in 2019 to engagement in 2021 and a lavish Spanish wedding in 2023. In June, they announced Sophie’s pregnancy with their first child and renamed their popular podcast Newlyweds to NearlyParents in anticipation of parenthood. The property purchase and renovation mark a milestone in a public life that has long intertwined with their media ventures and reality-TV past.
The house is described in multiple outlets as a substantial, high-end property in a central London area, with the couple positioning the home as a family base ahead of the baby’s arrival. While the price is not officially disclosed by the couple, reports pegged the value around £12 million, underscoring the scale of the renovation and the couple’s move into a new life chapter. The project has also become part of their broader media narrative, with Jamie sharing process updates and Sophie discussing the home’s design priorities on public platforms and in interviews.
As the baby countdown begins, Laing and Habboo appear to be turning a long, and sometimes turbulent, house-hunt into a story of fate, perseverance, and a new beginning in a city that has long been a backdrop to their arc in culture and entertainment.
