Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo unveil new London home ahead of baby’s birth as Spencer Matthews feud unfolds

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have unveiled their London home just in time for the birth of their first baby. The former Made In Chelsea star, 36, posted a video tour on social media to showcase the new abode, including a downstairs view that showed the space before renovations and an after-look at a bright, split-level living area that merges the kitchen, dining and lounge.

In the clip, Laing guides followers through the downstairs, noting the space began as an empty shell with light fixtures dangling from the ceiling. The after footage reveals a striking open-plan layout with a gigantic marble kitchen island, a stainless-steel American fridge freezer and warm spot lighting. White wooden paneling on the ceiling, curved arched door frames and a pantry off the kitchen contribute to a cosy, modern feel. The raised level of the living area is designed to provide a subtle separation from the rest of the house, while four skylights flood the space with natural light. Family photos line the walls, lending a personal touch to the new home. The couple has not shown the rest of the property.

Habboo, who announced in June that she is expecting their first child, and Laing wed in a lavish Spanish wedding in 2023. The couple’s social update comes as both prepare for parenthood, and in the wake of public conversations about their friendship with Spencer Matthews, Laing’s former best man and close collaborator on Made In Chelsea.

Separately, Matthews proposed a deeper look at the pair’s on-off dynamic during a discussion on his Untapped podcast. He addressed rumors of a rift, explaining that part of the tension stemmed from not being invited to support Jamie during his Ultra Marathon Challenge, a grueling 150-mile run over five days that raised more than £2 million for Comic Relief. He described the moment as a point of contention, while stressing that he did not intend to snub his friend.

“It was a really beautiful thing to watch. I didn’t snub your challenge at all,” Matthews recalled, noting that he had congratulated Jamie at the finish. He added that he felt the narrative around his absence had become unfair. “There’s a reason I wasn’t there, I wasn’t invited.” Laing pushed back, suggesting that everyone who did attend to congratulate Jamie at the finish line was not invited in advance, while Matthews replied, “Well, of course they were.” Laing countered, “No, no, they weren’t, people just turn up at the finish line. I didn’t invite them.”

The discussion follows earlier reporting that tensions between the two had been brewing earlier this year after Matthews said he was upset when Jamie snubbed him at his wedding. Matthews did attend Jamie and Sophie's June wedding celebration in Spain, but was not present for the couple’s legal ceremony at Chelsea Registry Office two months prior, instead taking a family holiday to Portugal.

Laing captioned his post about the new home with “Just in time,” adding, “My wife and I bought our first home and start renovating it... 14 months, 10,000 arguments and nearly divorced later, we’ve finally finished.” The couple has kept most of the property details private, sharing a glimpse of the downstairs and common areas but not the full layout.

The new home news arrives as Habboo and Laing prepare to welcome their first child, a milestone that has been widely celebrated by followers online. The pair, who tied the knot in 2023, have built a public profile around their relationship, with the London house tour offering a rare, intimate look at the couple’s lives beyond their reality-TV roots. As they navigate parenthood and a renewed public conversation about their friendship with Matthews, fans will be watching for more updates on both the family front and the couple’s ongoing home project.
