Former supermodel Janice Dickinson has filed a personal injury claim against ITV Studios in London over a fall that occurred during the I'm a Celebrity... South Africa all-star edition in 2023, a development reported by BBC News on Friday. The lawsuit marks Dickinson's formal effort to seek damages after what she describes as a serious injury suffered on the reality program's jungle camp. The claim was lodged at the High Court in London against ITV Studios, the producer behind the show, according to the BBC.

Dickinson, who is 70, was reportedly required surgery after sustaining head and facial injuries when she tripped while going to the toilet during the night in the jungle camp. The incident allegedly occurred while contestants were navigating the show's camp at Kruger National Park. Dickinson's team has not publicly released further details about medical treatment beyond the reported surgery.

The claim was filed against ITV Studios at the High Court in London. ITV declined to comment on the lawsuit.

Dickinson's representative Dermot McNamara told BBC News that a claim had been issued in relation to her appearance on I'm a Celebrity... South Africa, and that she looked forward to giving her full account in due course.

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa was a special all-star edition of the long-running reality series, hosted by Ant and Dec.

Dickinson appeared alongside former contestants Fatima Whitbread, Jordan Banjo and Myleene Klass, who went on to win the series.

Dickinson withdrew from proceedings on day 11, and was reported at the time to have been taken from Kruger National Park to hospital for treatment.

She previously appeared on the 2007 edition of I'm A Celebrity..., finishing as the runner-up.

The BBC report underscores that the case is now in the legal process, with no timetable for proceedings publicly announced.
