Jenna Bush Hager, Sheinelle Jones Bond Over Shopping at the Bra Capitol Of America on Today
As Jones guests host this week, the pair reminisce about Dillards, beige bras, and resilience after her husband’s death
On Tuesday's Today With Jenna & Friends, Jones, guest hosting the fourth hour this week, recalled a childhood memory that sparked a bond with Bush Hager. 'You know when I fell in love with you?' Jones asked during their morning chat. 'When you told me you went to Dillards as a kid.' 'Oh, yeah. The bra capitol of America? It’s the bra capitol of America,' Bush Hager replied, before adding, 'My mom would be like, "Do we need to take our annual trip to Dillards?"' 'And it has to be beige!' Jones fired back.
Tuesday also marked day two of Jones' week-long stint as guest host of Today With Jenna & Friends. Jones recently returned to The Today Show after taking almost nine months off to care for her husband, who died of brain cancer in May at 45. On Monday's broadcast, she opened up about returning to a 'new normal' with her kids. 'Friday when we got home, it was tough because there was nothing to rally ourselves for. It was just like oh this is it. This is life, kind of sucks,' she said. 'My coach was gone, my life partner,' she told Bush Hager. 'The days after my first week were tough because it was like my new normal.'
Bush Hager offered a public show of support, telling Jones, through tears, 'I’ve never met anybody stronger. Watching you over the last year has been remarkable.'
