Jennifer Aniston Relaxes With Pizza, Burgers and a Martini: A Real-Life Cheat Day
The Morning Show star discusses comfort foods, a kid’s cookbook, and aging gracefully in a new interview and book tour.

Jennifer Aniston revealed her go-to cheat-day menu is surprisingly relatable: pizza nights, burgers and Mexican food, foods she reaches for when she needs a pick-me-up with close girlfriends. The 56-year-old star said she cooks her own comfort foods, which include "pizza nights, burgers or Mexican food." Going out to eat and drink is also a favorite activity for her and her pals, Aniston told People in an interview published Tuesday. She said, "I’ll go to my favorite restaurant with some girlfriends, have a martini, and some delicious meal." She listed the friends she calls to spend time with, including her longtime Frye? co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, as well as Jason Bateman’s wife Amanda Anka and Tobey Maguire’s ex-wife, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer. The Morning Show star is promoting her new cookbook for kids, Cook With Clydeo, with the animated character inspired by her rescue dog Clyde. While she may not be super strict on what foods she eats, she noted she watches her portions and has routines to keep balance in her life.
Aniston released a cookbook for kids, Cook With Clydeo, earlier this month. The book’s standout recipe, Enchilada Bites, is pictured as one of her favorites in interviews promoting the project. The animated character Clydeo is inspired by her rescue dog Clyde, and the recipe she highlights in the book is Enchilada Bites, described by Aniston as a guilt-free treat because they’re small in size. "It’s guilt-free, because they’re just little bites. You can stretch it into two bites, but definitely, definitely yummy, yummy, yummy," she said on social posts tied to the release. The cookbook aligns with Aniston’s broader public persona: a blend of accessible, family-friendly projects and wellness-minded living, rather than an ultra-strict regimen.

Aniston also touched on aging gracefully in a Q&A with Glamour earlier this month, saying, "I have an eternal fountain of optimism and positivity. Call it youth if you want." She added that her mindset extends to how she views her body and how she cares for it: "But I think it all starts with how we love our bodies and love where we are." The Emmy winner has not admitted to undergoing any recent plastic surgery, though she acknowledged she gets facials and lasers and that she’s "maintained" her looks. "I’m not going to say I don’t get the facials and the lasers and all that good stuff," she said. "I mean, I’m maintained. I’m not going to just go down and let these gray hairs take over." She continued, "So it’s perspective, and also knowing that this is our one body. It’s a mindset."

A longtime advocate of accessible fitness, Aniston has also promoted Pvolve, a low-impact workout method, as part of her approach to staying active. She has spoken publicly about aging gracefully in recent interviews and on social media, reinforcing that wellness is a holistic practice—one that blends exercise, balanced eating, and a positive outlook. Her comments come amid ongoing public interest about how aging celebrities maintain their appearance while navigating scrutiny about possible cosmetic work. In her own words, the focus is on perspective and treating one’s body with care.
