The party was said to have kicked off with a World War II-era Spitfire flyover, a spectacle that locals described as unusual for a private home. Neighbors told the outlet they feared the sound could disturb pets, and some said music continued into the early hours, with reports of sounds lasting until about 1:30 a.m. The Matthews family purchased their private West Berkshire estate in 2022, and the home sits near William and Kate’s Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

The couple, who married in 2017, typically keep a low profile, but their circle has remained connected to the broader royal family. The Daily Mail notes that, historically, Pippa has been a regular guest at Kate’s annual Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey, a charity event that has drawn the siblings and their parents in recent years. The report also underscores that the siblings have sought a relatively private life with a small family footprint closer to siblings, children, and extended relatives.

In related public disclosures, Kate, the Princess of Wales, has publicly discussed her health after undergoing cancer treatment in March 2024. She announced she was cancer-free in September 2024 and later, in January, described being in remission and looked forward to a fulfilling year ahead. The New York Post, which published the initial account of the Berkshire party, said it reached out to Middleton’s representative and to a palace spokesperson for comment on the gathering.
