Keanu Reeves Denies Secret Marriage Rumors Ahead of Broadway Debut
Actor pictured in Manhattan ahead of Waiting for Godot opening; publicist says he and Alexandra Grant are not married.

Keanu Reeves was photographed on a morning stroll in Manhattan on Monday as he prepared for the opening of his Broadway revival Waiting for Godot, in which he plays Estragon. His publicist quickly dismissed rumors that he and longtime partner Alexandra Grant had secretly wed, saying the pair are not married.
Reeves, 61, appeared casual and unkempt, wearing a thin olive-green jacket over a black V-neck sweater, distressed brown corduroy pants and worn brown boots. He wore a red ARCH Motorcycle cap and carried an orange recyclable bag, with his salt-and-pepper beard appearing overgrown as he focused on his phone. The sighting reminded some of the meme 'Sad Keanu' that circulated in 2010.
Grant and Reeves have been dating since 2018 after meeting at a dinner party in 2009; they also co-founded X Artists' Books in 2017, a small publishing imprint Reeves and Grant launched with Jessica Fleischmann, and Reeves has contributed poetry to two of Grant's books. The two have kept their relationship relatively private while supporting each other's creative projects.
Waiting for Godot, directed by Jamie Lloyd, marks Reeves's Broadway debut in the role of Estragon. The production is staged at the Hudson Theatre in Manhattan and runs next Sunday through January 4, 2026, with previews underway. Reeves stars opposite Alex Winter, who reprises his Bill & Ted trilogy-era role as Vladimir. The revival brings Reeves back together with Winter in a long-anticipated stage collaboration.
Reeves has discussed the physical demands of Beckett's surrealist tragedy in interviews, telling the New York Times that he has been thinking about ways to stay in peak condition, including possible cold plunges. The actor, widely known for his work across film and television, has a slate of upcoming projects outside of Godot. He is set to portray the angel Gabriel in Aziz Ansari's feature directorial debut Good Fortune, which opens in U.S. and U.K. theaters on October 17, alongside Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer and Sandra Oh. Reeves's other announced projects include Francis Lawrence's long-delayed Constantine sequel, Jonah Hill's black comedy Outcome for Apple TV+, and Ruben Östlund's satirical black comedy The Entertainment System Is Down.
Beyond his acting career, Reeves has been linked with a string of high-profile relationships in the past, including Oscar-winning actresses Charlize Theron and Sofia Coppola, as well as the late Jennifer Syme, who died in a 2001 car accident after the couple welcomed a stillborn daughter in 1999. Reeves's public life has long been marked by privacy and careful selection of projects, even as he remains a fixture in popular culture.
