Kim Kardashian’s NikeSKIMS store launch in Los Angeles drew attention for the celebrity’s arrival, but her 12-year-old daughter North West quickly stole the show as the pair attended the Nike store rebrand opening at The Grove.
Kardashian arrived in a skintight, quarter-zip top tucked into royal purple cropped leggings, paired with flip-flop-style heels and oversized, goggle-inspired sunglasses. North West accompanied her mother in a graphic T-shirt and baggy basketball shorts, with long, electric-blue braids and shield sunglasses. North’s footwear was boots, and she walked with an entourage as she shared the spotlight with her mom; at times North appeared nearly as tall as Kardashian, even in heels.
The event also marked the opening of a Nike store rebrand and came on the same day Kardashian’s NikeSKIMS collaboration went live on Nike’s website. In discussing the collaboration, Kardashian has described it as a natural evolution for Skims, focused on activewear and the female form. She has said the dream was to work with Nike because of the brand’s legacy, innovation and athlete insights, a pairing she characterized as a logical fit for her line’s body-oriented offerings.
Earlier this week, Kardashian invited Martha Stewart to join her family in New York for a NikeSKIMS launch event that featured a show-style presentation in which her sisters and Kris Jenner were in attendance. The collection’s live reveal followed the earlier online release, with Kardashian continuing to promote the line across interviews and social appearances. In a recent Vogue feature, Kardashian spoke about her approach to NikeSKIMS and her broader fitness routine, noting that she works out daily and emphasizes weightlifting, lower-body work, and Pilates as part of her regimen.
The public-facing push around NikeSKIMS has kept Kardashian in the spotlight as she balances fashion, family, and business. Representatives for Kardashian did not issue a statement regarding the event.
