La Voix tipped for Strictly hosting role as BBC seeks long-term slot for drag performer
The drag performer La Voix is being lined up for a presenting gig on Strictly Come Dancing, with producers eager to find a permanent place for her in future series.

La Voix is being lined up for a presenting role on Strictly Come Dancing, with BBC bosses determined to find a long-term place for the drag performer, according to industry insiders. The cabaret star, whose real name is Christopher Dennis, is 45.
During her Strictly run, La Voix impressed with quick wit and repartee and signaled ambitions to host. She asked Claudia where to send her CV and even stood in for skits with the show's presenters during Saturday's live broadcasts. On Wednesday, she was drafted in to host the finalists press conference, usually reserved for It Takes Two hosts Fleur East and Janette Manrara, at the BBC's Broadcasting House. An insider described it as an audition: 'Producers think she is the next Dame Edna Everage and are determined to find her a role on Strictly, whether that be on the main show or It Takes Two.' Claudia Winkleman has been her biggest cheerleader and believes La Voix would be a perfect fit for Strictly.
BBC bosses also asked her on Tuesday to fill in on Morning Live, the network's flagship breakfast program, where she impressed replacing Gethin Jones alongside Helen Skelton. The insider noted that, behind the scenes, Dennis has been kind to staff. 'While the priority is sorting out Claudia and Tess's replacements, there are ongoing talks about how to bring La Voix into the Strictly team.'
The Drag Race UK star danced with Aljaž Skorjanec earlier this series before pulling out due to injury, and she returned last night to watch Karen Carney lift the Glitterball Trophy. An insider added that Mr Dennis is known for his kindness backstage, echoing the reputation of Dame Edna creator Barry Humphries. Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC's Head of Entertainment Commissioning, was among those watching the press conference, underscoring the network's interest in expanding hosting roles.
In any case, the ongoing discussions reflect the BBC's broader push to diversify its on-screen talent and explore new hosting formats, with La Voix at the center of that conversation as producers weighing how to integrate her into future Strictly chapters.
