Laura Bryne goes into labor as she prepares to welcome third child

Laura Bryne has gone into labor with her third child, sharing updates from the hospital as she and husband Matty ‘J’ Johnson prepare to welcome another daughter. The former Bachelor star posted to social media on Wednesday night after the couple arrived at the hospital, with Matty revealing he was trying to keep Laura distracted from contractions by performing an interpretive dance in the birthing room. “Performing interpretive dance to distract my wife from contractions,” he wrote in a lighthearted caption accompanying a video in which he raised his arms and spun around beside a hospital bed.

Bryne also posted a photo showing Matty in the hospital room holding maternity underwear, adding simply, “Here we go again.” The couple has been open about the pregnancy on their platforms, including Bryne’s podcast Life Uncut and Johnson’s media appearances.

In April, Bryne and Johnson revealed that the baby would be a girl. The gender reveal took place live on KIIS FM’s The Pick Up, where Bryne cut into a cake that hid pink icing, confirming another daughter. Co-host Brittany Hockley exclaimed, “It’s a girl,” while Matty teased a desire for more children. The moment followed Bryne’s broader pregnancy announcement on Life Uncut, the podcast she co-hosts with Hockley.

The couple already share two daughters: Marlie-Mae, born in 2019, and Lola, born in 2021. Bryne’s path to motherhood has included public moments on screen and on her podcast, where she discussed the timing of a third child and the family’s evolving dynamic.

Bryne first rose to public prominence on The Bachelor Australia in 2017, where she met Johnson, who later became a father to their two children. Acknowledging the journey to a third child, Johnson has spoken about the couple’s plans in recent interviews and on his podcast Two Doting Dads, noting the pregnancy as an October baby and hinting that if a third child were to come, it would be in 2025, aligning with their goal of expanding their family.

The labour update comes as the couple navigates the final stages of pregnancy in the public eye, a common occurrence for reality TV alumni who share milestones with a broad fan base. As Bryne moves closer to welcoming her third child, fans have followed along through social posts and show appearances, awaiting news of the baby’s arrival and the well-wishes from fans and friends alike.
