Laura Byrne unveils dramatic pre-birth transformation with long bob
Bachelor alum Laura Byrne debuts a long bob as she nears the birth of her third child, a daughter

Laura Byrne, 39, the former Bachelor Australia star, has unveiled a dramatic hair transformation just weeks before she is due to welcome her third child. The reality TV alum revealed a long bob, ditching her signature long, glossy brunette locks in favor of a fresh, mid-length style that frames her face. She shared the new look in a social-media post on Tuesday, writing, 'Got the chop pre baby evacuation because it's been 12 months since my last trim.'
Fans quickly praised the change, calling it chic and suited to her pregnancy glow, with comments noting the cut as a stylish reset before the baby arrives. The haircut arrives amid a busy year for Byrne, who last year announced she and partner Matty 'J' Johnson are expecting their third child. In April, Byrne publicly confirmed the gender of the baby on KIIS FM's The Pick Up during a live moment that doubled as a celebration of their growing family. The couple revealed they are expecting another daughter, a sister for their two girls, Marlie-Mae (born 2019) and Lola (born 2021).
Byrne first shared the pregnancy news on her podcast Life Uncut, which she co-hosts with fellow reality star Brittany Hockley. She described learning the news early, after a friend made a comment that prompted her to take a test. She said she learned very early in the pregnancy but did not tell her partner immediately. Byrne recalled that she discovered the pregnancy while Matty was filming I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in South Africa, and she waited until she was about two and a half months along to share the news with him. She explained that the couple waited to tell him because the show’s finale was filmed in a location far from home and not live this year, which influenced timing.
Matty Johnson later discussed the pregnancy publicly on his Two Doting Dads podcast, offering a light-hearted exchange about the pair's family plans. He teased that it would be 'an October baby' and reflected on how the couple had been trying for a third child since 2024, with the plan to expand their family if it happened this year. The duo has described their journey as a family of three girls who will soon be a family of three girls and another little sister. The exchange underscored the couple's continued enthusiasm about adding to their brood.
Byrne first stepped into the public eye on The Bachelor Australia in 2017, where she met her future husband. Since then, the couple has built a life together, sharing their experiences as they raise Marlie-Mae and Lola while preparing for their third child. As the pregnancy progresses, Byrne has continued to share glimpses of family life with her followers, including minor style updates like the latest haircut, which she has described as a confidence boost ahead of childbirth.
