Leona Lewis reveals inspiration for Las Vegas residency as Simon Cowell backs her two decades after X Factor win

Leona Lewis has revealed that her Las Vegas residency will be a personal retelling of the two decades since she won the X Factor in 2006. The Bleeding Love singer, now 40, says the show will go beyond a standard concert, sharing how life events such as her marriage to Dennis Jauch and the birth of their daughter Coco have shaped the music she performs. She described her former X Factor mentor Simon Cowell as 'so supportive' and said he 'still has my back' as she prepares to take her act to the Venetian.

Dubbed A Starry Night, the residency is scheduled to run from November through January at the Venetian Hotel. Tickets go on sale in August, with general admission starting from $75 (£55.50). Lewis told The Sun that the show will weave intimate moments into a performance package, drawing inspiration from figures like Adele who have opened up on stage about their lives. She said it is a big milestone for someone born in Hackney to perform in Las Vegas, and she called the prospect both proud and privileged.

Lewis also highlighted the ongoing bond with Cowell, noting that if she ever needs support she can reach out to him, and that he remains a steady source of encouragement despite the distance between their careers. She added that Adele's Vegas moment influenced her own approach to storytelling on stage.

To support the move, Lewis plans to relocate her whole family to Las Vegas for the run. Her parents will join to help care for Coco while she performs, underscoring the personal stakes of the residency.

Fans will watch a show that Lewis says is not just a collection of hits but a narrative about her life’s work in music. She joked that beige doesn't age and that her skincare routine is simple—soap and whatever lotion she can find—reflecting a grounded approach to fame.
