Love Island's Molly Smith and Tom Clare plan wedding abroad, may return to Cape Town
The couple met in Cape Town during Love Island: All Stars and say they may wed abroad, with South Africa as a leading contender after their Dubai engagement

Love Island stars Molly Smith and Tom Clare revealed plans for their wedding this week, saying they want to tie the knot abroad and are weighing a Cape Town ceremony as a lead option because that is where their romance began on Love Island: All Stars, which they won.
The couple became engaged during a Dubai trip earlier this month, sharing photos and a glowing moment on social media as Tom proposed on the beach with flowers and candles. Molly showed off the engagement ring in a series of snapshots from the romantic holiday, where the couple soaked up sun and celebrated the milestone.
Molly, 31, told Closer magazine that Cape Town remains a strong venue contender because it would return them to where their story began. She explained that they met in Cape Town while filming the winter All Stars edition and that they had been considering using the city for their ceremony as a way to recapture the start of their journey. “Tom and I met in Cape Town—we were on the winter All Stars show. We were thinking about it as a wedding venue to take us back to where it all started,” she said. If South Africa does not become the site of the vows, the couple indicated they would explore other options as they do “a lot more digging” into possible locations and formats for the ceremony.
The pair have also teased a lively run-up to the wedding. Tom has already planned out his stag do and booked the itinerary, while Molly hinted that her hen do will be a wild affair with her close friends, all described as good vibes and fun to be around. Molly has expressed a desire for her girlfriends to stand as bridesmaids, and she noted that she would love to share the wedding with friends who have supported her on and off the show. In addition to names from their All Stars circle, Molly remains connected with friends from the broader Love Island family, including Gabby Allen, who won the 2025 Love Island: All Stars edition, a detail she has celebrated among friends.
The engagement drew congratulatory messages from fellow contestants and friends. Tom’s best friend Casey O’Gorman reshared the couple’s announcement with crying emojis, while Liberty Poole, Paige Thorne and Luca Bish offered their well wishes in the comments.
Molly and Tom are among the few couples to have endured from the Love Island All Stars spin-off, and their plans to wed abroad reflect a trend of tying the knot in locations tied to their shared history on the show. The timeline remains fluid, with the couple indicating they will confirm a venue once their due diligence on locations is complete, keeping Cape Town as the top possibility while remaining open to other venues that fit their vision for a joint celebration with family and friends.
