Meryl Streep shoots Devil Wears Prada 2 at Dolce & Gabbana show during Milan Fashion Week, skips Selena Gomez wedding
Front-row presence in Milan as Streep films the sequel while Gomez ties the knot elsewhere

MILAN — Meryl Streep was in Milan this weekend to film scenes for Devil Wears Prada 2, sitting front row at Dolce & Gabbana's Milan Fashion Week show as the fashion house continues its collaboration with the star. The production has been shooting in Milan, and Dolce & Gabbana’s press office told the Associated Press that the event was filmed for inclusion in the sequel.
Streep’s appearance complemented a high-fashion moment on the front row. She wore a vinyl trench coat from the brand’s Spring-Summer ’25 runway collection, paired with a lamé animalier shirt and slim-fit trousers. For accessories, she wore a leopard print belt, a leopard print faux fur Marlene clutch and nude pumps. An Instagram video posted by Marie Claire captured the 76-year-old star arriving with her entourage just minutes before the show began. She was joined by her on-screen colleagues Stanley Tucci and Simone Ashley, who are set to appear in the anticipated follow-up. Tucci wore a deconstructed single-breasted Galles wool suit with a black cotton shirt and a leopard print chiffon foulard, while Ashley wore a tulle corset with satin cups and satin boning detailing, completed with a leopard print belt and green pumps.

Streep’s appearance comes just after Page Six confirmed she backed out of her Only Murders in the Building co-star Selena Gomez’s wedding to Benny Blanco this weekend. The wedding is slated for Santa Barbara, California, with Gomez’s rehearsal dinner drawing attention from guests including Paul Rudd, Steve Martin and Martin Short. Gomez’s close friend Taylor Swift was reported to be at the outdoor dinner, though paparazzi did not capture her on camera. The couple is expected to marry this Saturday at the El Encanto hotel.
The show’s broader context, described by Vogue as a collection that leaned into pajama-inspired silhouettes with decorative spring florals and cerulean-adjacent blues, provided a luxe backdrop for Streep’s continued film work during fashion week. The Dolce & Gabbana press office again confirmed to the Associated Press that the Milan event was filmed for the sequel, which has been shooting in the city.
