Miley Cyrus keeps mementos from Liam Hemsworth era, including first-date dress, in Vogue interview

Miley Cyrus is keeping mementos from her years with Liam Hemsworth, saying in a Vogue interview that she will not part with certain items tied to the relationship. The 32-year-old pop star described the keepsakes as meaningful reminders of a chapter she says she wants to savor. "I literally have a dress that I had on when I met my ex-husband, and then I have my dress that I wore on our first date. Along with letters and things that I really, I want to savor these kind of beautiful moments of my life," Cyrus told Vogue in a piece published this week.

These intimate moments have also been public moments, it's a little bit tough to decide what piece I want to share and what I would ever allow to be seen," she added. The interview comes as Cyrus reflects on more than a decade of public attention surrounding her personal life and career.

Cyrus and Hemsworth met on the set of The Last Song in 2009 and developed an on-again, off-again relationship that included an engagement in 2012, followed by a split in 2013. They rekindled their romance and wed in December 2018 in a private ceremony. The couple announced their split less than a year later, with Hemsworth filing for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized in early 2020, and they were legally single in February of that year. A representative at the time described their separation as a mutual decision, noting that both would continue focusing on themselves and their careers while remaining devoted parents to their animals.
