Morgan Fairchild, 75, makes rare autograph-show appearance amid health revelations

Morgan Fairchild, 75, made a rare appearance at the Mid Atlantic Autograph Show in Towson, Maryland, on Thursday, posing for photos with fellow television veterans Vicki Lawrence and Mackenzie Phillips. The Dallas and Falcon Crest alum looked well as she mingled with fans during the event.

Fairchild rose to prominence with guest turns on Kojak, Police Woman and The Love Boat before a larger part on Dallas in 1978. Her fame grew with the nighttime soap Falcon Crest, where she played Jordan Roberts for a season. She later appeared in films including Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult, Holy Man and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, and made appearances on Murphy Brown, Roseanne and Two and a Half Men. On Friends she played Chandler Bing's mother, Nora, a role that broadened her audience in the 1990s. Her later TV work included The Bold and the Beautiful, Bones, Revenge and Hot in Cleveland, and her most recent notable project was Lifetime's Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas.

In 2023, Fairchild revealed to Daily Mail that she had undergone two hip replacement surgeries the year prior, following a 2016 car accident that damaged one hip and tore the other labrum. She also described a health scare caused by hidden black mold in her Los Angeles home that contributed to weight gain. She said the surgeries have helped restore mobility and that she is now walking regularly and engaging in physical therapy. She also discussed infusions and vitamin therapy as part of her treatment. Fairchild attributed her recovery to advancing medical technology and to her Texas upbringing, which she said taught her to push through pain.

She noted that avoiding alcohol, smoking and drugs helped her age gracefully in Hollywood, adding that a nutritious diet and ongoing health research have been important to her. Fairchild has been married to Jack Calmes (1967–1973) and later dated Mark Seiler, who died in July, according to interviews and public records cited by outlets reporting on her health. Her recent TV and film appearances include guest stints on a variety of shows and a 2007 role in Two and a Half Men as a cougar who propositions Charlie Harper, among other later credits. Her longevity in the industry has kept her in demand for convention appearances and nostalgia-driven projects.

Fairchild's Mid-Atlantic appearance underscores a career that has spanned more than five decades, with a résumé that includes primetime soaps, sitcoms and film, and a late-life spotlight on health and resilience as she continues to navigate aging in the public eye.
