My Chemical Romance announces 2026 Black Parade tour, Citi Field stop

My Chemical Romance has announced a 2026 tour that will bring the band back to North American ballparks, stadiums, bowls and domes, with a prominent Citi Field stop in Queens, N.Y., on Aug. 9 featuring Franz Ferdinand as the opening act. The trek, billed as the Black Parade Tour, runs from July through October and includes international dates in the United Kingdom as well as a slate of high-profile guests across multiple stops.

The itinerary foresees U.K. and U.S. dates across a broad mix of venues, with July stops kicking off in Glasgow and London, followed by July dates at Bellahouston Park and Wembley Stadium. In the United States, Citi Field will host the August 9 show, followed by a sequence of dates in Nashville, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Minneapolis, Denver, and San Antonio, among others. The band is slated to close the trek with three concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles from Oct. 21-24, after a calendar that also includes appearances at major festivals.

The 2026 run also includes three prominent U.S. festival appearances: Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Fla. (May 7-10); Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio (May 14-17); and Louder Than Life in Louisville, Ky. (May 18-21, date TBD). The tour’s breadth is matched by a robust opening-act lineup on selected dates, with Franz Ferdinand set to open the Queens show, and additional acts such as Pierce The Veil, Modest Mouse, Iggy Pop, Sleater-Kinney, The Breeders, Babymetal, Jimmy Eat World and The Mars Volta slated to appear on various stops.

Ticket information emphasizes both primary and secondary markets. The official on-sale for the 2026 Black Parade Tour is listed as Friday, Sept. 26. Tickets may also be available through secondary platforms, with outlets such as Vivid Seats offering seats from the secondary market. Organizers note that prices on resale sites can vary based on demand, and buyers should check for guarantees and delivery timelines.

In addition to touring plans, My Chemical Romance recently released news about side projects in the broader creative orbit surrounding the band. Gerard Way has collaborated with Fender’s Michael Schulz and members of The Interrupters to form The Mock Ups, releasing the punk single I Wanna Know Your Name, engineered by the late MCR collaborator Doug McKean. Though there is no confirmation of further releases, the project marks the band’s continued cross-pertilization with other artists.

The band’s live-forward identity has drawn praise and attention from critics and fans alike. A recent review of a 2025 MetLife Stadium show described the band’s dual-portion set as ambitious, with a large, theatrical first act followed by a more intimate second half. The New York Post’s coverage noted the enduring appeal of the Black Parade era while underscoring the group’s willingness to evolve on stage.

Fans and ticket buyers are advised to monitor official channels for updates on additional guest appearances and any schedule changes. As with past tours, pricing, seating options and on-sale timing may shift in response to demand and venue policies. The band’s management and promotional partners have not issued additional statements beyond the announced itinerary and on-sale date.
