Olivia Palermo turned heads as she stepped out in Milan during Fashion Week on Tuesday, wearing a blue satin dress adorned with blue and white floral detailing. The American socialite, 39, paired the look with silver pointed heels and accessorised with diamond hoop earrings as she posed for cameras on the streets of the Italian city.

The appearance underscores Palermo's enduring status as a staple of the fashion circuit, with the star frequently seen among the front rows at major shows around the world.

In interviews in recent years, Palermo has spoken about her gratitude for a career spent in the spotlight. In Haute Living New York, she said she felt fortunate and that she loves the industry and works with incredible people: "You know, I've been fairly fortunate. I really love the industry that I'm in, and I work with incredible people."

Palermo rose to fame on MTV's The Hills spin-off The City, which followed Whitney Port's move to New York to work for Diane von Furstenberg in 2008. Palermo appeared in both seasons, initially as Port's workplace friend and later a rival. Since the show, she has become one of the fashion world's most established front-row regulars, attending the world's most prestigious events.

She has since built a diversified portfolio beyond modeling and appearances. Palermo is the founder and chief creative officer of Olivia Palermo Group Inc., which includes the e-commerce platform OliviaPalermo.com, through which she curates fashion, beauty, and lifestyle offerings. The couple's long-standing partnership extends beyond personal life to business opportunities that keep them in the public eye.

Discussing the key to their long marriage, Palermo told Harper's Bazaar Australia that they strive not to be separated for more than seven days: "It's just something we have always done."
