One Chicago Returns: Chicago Fire, Med, and P.D. Set Fall 2025 Premiere on NBC

NBC has renewed Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. for the 2025-2026 season, keeping the One Chicago universe in the network’s ongoing lineup. The three dramas, which anchor NBC’s fall schedule, will return with a dedicated Wednesday night block this season, delivering new episodes across the trio in a single viewing window. The season premieres are set for Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time, NBC confirmed.

NBC is not airing new Chicago Fire episodes on Sept. 24, as the network opts to run America’s Got Talent’s Season 20 finale in that timeslot. The renewal announcements came in May 2025, signaling continued support for the three series and the broader Chicago franchise on NBC and Peacock.

Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. will each roll out fresh episodes starting Oct. 1, with the three-hour block allowing back-to-back introductions of new cases, medical emergencies, and departmental crossovers that have become a hallmark of the franchise. Viewers can watch live on NBC, via the NBC app, or on NBC.com with a cable authentication. For those who prefer streaming, NBC’s live-TV partners offer the games-and-shows alternative: DIRECTV, fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and Sling TV provide live streams of NBC in many markets, often with free trial options.

All 35 seasons of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. are available to stream on Peacock, the network’s streaming service, enabling fans to catch up on classic cases, personalities, and pivotal moments from across the One Chicago era. The Oct. 1 premiere marks the latest chapter in a long-running ensemble universe that has become a cultural touchstone in American television drama.

Beyond the core trio, fan interest in a possible spinoff or new Chicago-branded projects remains a topic of conversation in entertainment circles. A rumored series called Chicago Chefs, described as a look at the professional and personal lives of Windy City chefs, has circulated online, but no official confirmation or greenlight has been announced. The Bear’s success in recent years has intensified speculation about potential expansions of Chicago-themed programming, yet NBC has not publicly advanced any such project at this time.

As the fall season approaches, the One Chicago trio will once again anchor a cross-network strategy that centers the Chicago brand within NBC’s scheduling and Peacock’s streaming catalog. The fall return also reflects broader industry trends of synchronized broadcast and streaming strategies designed to retain dedicated audiences across multiple platforms. For fans of the shows, Oct. 1 promises a renewed cycle of emergencies, investigations, and dramatic intersections that have defined the franchise for years, with NBC emphasizing continuity and character-driven storytelling in its Culture & Entertainment slate.
