Owen Cooper, 15, Attends Milan Fashion Week Show as Youngest Male Emmy Winner

Owen Cooper, the 15-year-old star of Adolescence, made headlines again as he attended the Bottega Veneta show during Milan Fashion Week, hours after being named the youngest-ever male Emmy winner.

The Warrington-born actor arrived at the glitzy event in a brown zip-up jacket paired with light brown trousers and suede trainers, a look that kept things casual for an evening on the front row. He sat alongside American actress Louisa Jacobson as the fashion gala unfolded, with photographers capturing a moment of rising star power from the teenager.

The day’s attention extended beyond the catwalk. Earlier in the week, Cooper made history by becoming the youngest-ever male winner of an Emmy, taking Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Jamie Miller in the Netflix four-part series Adolescence, a role filmed when he was 14. The ceremony saw him accept the award from co-presenter Sydney Sweeney and receive a standing ovation as his name was announced on the stage. "Honestly, when I started these drama classes a couple years back, I didn’t expect to be even in the United States, never mind here," he said in remarks after the win, before adding that the award belongs to the people behind the camera and to the cast. "I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life."

In a reflection of his growing schedule, Cooper has balanced acting with school commitments, telling reporters that he was granted a week off from school to travel to Los Angeles for the Emmys, with the condition that he complete homework while away, particularly maths. His headteacher’s accommodation allowed him to attend the ceremony and return for exams and coursework, underscoring the ongoing juggling act many young performers face when breaking into major awards circuits.

The teenager’s family traveled with him to Los Angeles, where his parents, Andy and Noreen, and his two brothers joined him in supporting the milestone. The family’s visit to the awards circuit underscored the close-knit nature of his ascent from a Warrington upbringing to international recognition.

At the Milan event itself, Lauren James, the Chelsea and England footballer, also drew attention as she arrived in a baggy white shirt layered under a beige jacket, pairing the look with loose-fitting trousers and black leather shoes. The moment highlighted the mix of sports, entertainment, and fashion that framed the show evening.

The Bottega Veneta catwalk continued to spotlight a range of talent. Stephen Graham won in the acting category, and in writing, the prize went to Graham and co-writer Jack Thorne. Best Supporting Actress went to Erin Doherty, while director Philip Barantini took home a prize in his category. The night’s wins offered a snapshot of the broader entertainment landscape alongside Cooper’s rising star status as he continues to navigate a growing screen career while maintaining school commitments and balancing public appearances.
