Pastor Rob McCoy delivers emotional tribute at Charlie Kirk memorial
Turning Point Faith co-chair reflects on Kirk’s faith and impact at Glendale service

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A memorial service for Charlie Kirk was held Sunday at State Farm Stadium, where Pastor Rob McCoy opened the program with an emotional tribute. McCoy, a longtime faith leader who serves as co-chair of Turning Point Faith, spoke about Kirk's faith, ambition and impact on the conservative youth movement.
The service, which featured performances by Christian artists, occurred the same day Kirk's death was described as an assassination by organizers, a death that stunned the movement.
McCoy, who recently retired after 25 years at Godspeak Calvary Chapel in Thousand Oaks, California, has stood by the Kirk family in recent years. Kirk attended McCoy's anniversary celebration in August, a connection the pastor highlighted as he began his remarks.
"Charlie Kirk did in 31 years on this earth … had more lifetimes in 31 years, and all of us have in the entirety of our own," McCoy said, describing the late activist's sense of purpose and energy.
McCoy then spoke of Kirk's faith, recounting how he believed Charlie entrusted his life to the Savior and how Jesus' life and crucifixion framed the family’s outlook. "His blood was poured out because blood must be shed for the remission of sins," he said, adding that Kirk’s death was "sufficient for all the world's sins, but only efficient for those who, like Charlie, would receive him as their Savior."
McCoy also framed Kirk's political work as a faith-based pursuit. "Charlie looked at politics as an on-ramp to Jesus. He knew if he could get all of you rowing in the streams of liberty, you'd come to its source. And that's the Lord."
Attendees included Turning Point USA staffers and supporters, along with faith leaders and activists connected to Kirk's outreach efforts. The memorial drew a broad cross-section concerned with both civic engagement and religious faith.
The service concluded with prayers and reflections on Kirk's legacy, including his work to mobilize young people around constitutional principles and his emphasis on faith as a guiding force in public life. Fox News Digital provided live updates and coverage of the service, underscoring Kirk's influence within Turning PointUSA and the broader movement he helped shape.
