Perrie Edwards’s Son Axel Corrects Her Lyrics as She Censors Song Ahead of Solo Debut

Perrie Edwards, 32, posted a video on social media in which she sang the words to her latest single, Absof**kinglutely, from her upcoming debut solo album. In front of her four-year-old son Axel, she censored the line, singing 'absolutely freakinglutely' instead. Axel immediately corrected: 'That's not the words!'

Edwards, who left Little Mix in 2022 and has since built a solo catalog that includes You Go Your Way, Tears and Forget About Us, is preparing for the release this Friday of her first solo album. The clip also shows her fiancé, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and their son Axel. To mark the moment, she flashed a white T-shirt bearing the lyric 'If He Wanted To He Would' during a baby-bump reveal that accompanied the post.

Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain announced they are expecting their second child earlier this month. The news followed Perrie’s openness about two miscarriages she suffered before Axel’s birth. She spoke about those losses on Paul C Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast, recounting an early miscarriage in her first pregnancy and, a year after giving birth to Axel, another loss at 24 weeks. She has described Axel as a rainbow baby in later remarks about the experience.

Fans on social media reacted to the clip with warmth and humor, praising the candid moment. One commenter wrote, 'Axel taking no prisoners—tiny critic, big honesty,' while another said, 'That’s so adorable! Axel keeping Perrie on her toes is adorable.' A third noted the moment as a reminder of the lightness that can accompany big life events. "Brutal call out, love it" was another popular sentiment among viewers.

The moment comes as Edwards advances toward the release of her solo work, following the 2022 hiatus of Little Mix. Her current material includes several tracks that have helped define her post-group career, as she navigates new musical directions while continuing to grow her family. Meanwhile, her former bandmate Jade released her own debut album, marking a different milestone for the group’s members as they pursue individual projects. Perrie and her fiancé, who previously revealed the pregnancy via social posts, also used the moment to share a broader look at their growing family.
