Prince Harry recounted his family’s June trip to Disneyland in Anaheim with Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, during a Sunday broadcast of ABC’s 20/20. In The Happiest Story on Earth: 70 Years of Disneyland, the prince described the outing as "amazing" and said the kids had been convinced the park was extraordinary even before they’d stepped inside.

During the June visit, Archie and Lilibet’s first trip to the California theme park, Harry told viewers that "to see the kids throw themselves into these experiences when they [had] no idea what they [were] walking into -- it was amazing." He added that the excursion "brings out the kid in you again." Meghan, 44, also shared footage from the outing on Instagram in June, writing, "Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!" The couple’s video montage included Lilibet’s "Little Mermaid"-themed birthday cake and selfies on rides such as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.

Meghan, who has long spoken of Disneyland ties, noted during the program that she grew up a Southern California girl and still calls the park a "treat." The special also featured the couple discussing their own early memories of the Disney parks: Harry recalled a 1993 trip with his mother, the late Diana, and brother William, saying, "I remember it very, very well. I remember losing it as a kid with all the characters. Like, losing it." He said he would ride Space Mountain "round and round and round" — "10, maybe 12 times."

Meghan added that Disneyland felt more accessible because of her California roots, but remained "the biggest treat in the world." The duke and duchess also remembered a grad-night moment in which Harry joked, "That sounds like a lot of fun. Can you do that in your forties?" This exchange underscored the couple’s ongoing blend of family life with their high-profile public profile.

Harry and Meghan have resided in Montecito, California, since leaving Britain in 2020. The couple’s time in Southern California has been a frequent subject of media interest, including a recent hint from Harry that they could be moving back to the United Kingdom, as he spoke with singer Joss Stone about her move and the appeal of English schools and community life for children.

ABC’s 20/20 special, which aired Sunday, also featured the couple reflecting on their own childhood visits to Disney parks and how those memories shaped their family’s experiences today. Meghan’s June Instagram posts earlier this year had highlighted their Disneyland two days of "pure joy" with their children.

Images from the segment and accompanying coverage show Harry and Meghan at the park with their children as they navigated favorite attractions and milestones, including Lilibet’s cake and family selfies. The material underscores the couple’s continued connection to Disney and to their California home life.
