Queen Camilla wears blue jeans to Braemar Literary Festival
The Queen attends the Braemar Literary Festival at The Fife Arms in Royal Deeside for its fourth year

Queen Camilla stepped out in Scotland on Saturday in a casual ensemble as she attended the Braemar Literary Festival at The Fife Arms in Royal Deeside. The three-day festival, which runs from September 26 to 28, celebrates literature and is organized in collaboration with The Queen's Reading Room. The festival is now in its fourth year.
Photographs showed Camilla, 78, in a casual, coordinated outfit: blue jeans paired with a navy jumper under a puffer jacket, blue loafers, blue socks, and a clutch in a lighter shade of the hue. Her hair was worn loose in soft waves and her makeup was minimal as she greeted attendees.
Authors this year include Sir Alexander McCall Smith, Monica Ali, and David Nicholls, the author of One Day. Camilla's son Tom Parker Bowles, a food writer, attended alongside restaurant critic Giles Coren. She was photographed arriving with Iwan Wirth, co-owner of The Fife Arms and a noted art gallery figure.
Camilla has attended Braemar Literary Festival multiple times, most notably at its 2022 launch when she met author Sebastian Faulks. The current visit comes as she and King Charles III have spent the summer at Balmoral Castle; the Court Circular recorded Friday's appearance at the Fife Arms, though there was no mention of whether she visited Bertie's Whisky Bar, the hotel's homage to Edward VII.
The festival, held at The Fife Arms hotel in Royal Deeside, is part of Camilla's broader commitment to literacy and the arts. The Queen launched her book club during the Covid-19 pandemic, which evolved into a charity that supports literature and provides free educational content. The Braemar event draws novelists, historians, artists, and actors together with readers of all ages and is considered a key annual feature of the royal calendar for promoting reading and cultural engagement.
