Sighting of teen resembling Celeste Rivas at D4vd concert prompts renewed questions in case
Footage of a woman who looks like the late Celeste Rivas surfaced at an August show, as investigators pursue a timeline in the case

A teenager who bears a strong resemblance to Celeste Rivas, the friend of musician D4vd whose dismembered body was found in the trunk of the artist’s Tesla earlier this month, was reportedly spotted at a concert in Silver Spring, Maryland on Aug. 24. The sighting was described by TMZ, which published footage of a woman on a balcony near the stage who resembles Rivas in facial features and hairstyle. In the clip, the woman is seen wearing a black tube top and blue ripped jeans as she stands on a small balcony directly behind the performer, with a man dancing beside her.
If confirmed as Rivas, the sighting would place her in Maryland roughly two weeks before authorities say she last appeared alive and before her remains were found in the trunk of D4vd’s electric vehicle in Los Angeles on Sept. 8. Investigators have not publicly identified the person in the video, and authorities have not confirmed a link between the footage and the Los Angeles discovery.
The 21-year-old artist—real name David Anthony Burke—has long been associated publicly with friends such as Benny Blanco and Billie Eilish. Police previously raided his Hollywood Hills home as part of the investigation, leaving with multiple bags of evidence, including a computer, as they pursued materials they said could answer questions about the case.
Online interest in the case has surged, with fans and social-media users cross-referencing older posts, songs, and clips that some say hint at Rivas or the relationship between the two teens. A January 2024 livestream showed Rivas appearing in a chat where she encouraged D4vd to answer a question from a viewer; a reposted TikTok clip from the same period shows a man chopping up lunch meat, which some commenters connected to a gruesome modern-murder context surrounding the case. Brayan, a content creator who posted the clip in January 2024, said the video was not meant to reference D4vd and that it was intended as entertainment rather than a clue in an ongoing investigation.
In a separate line of inquiry, internet sleuths have pointed to a 2022 single and video titled Romantic Homicide, featuring a dark-haired woman who bore a striking resemblance to Rivas, as well as a December 2023 track titled Celeste_Demo that appears to allude to someone named Celeste with lines that fans say echo the reported relationship between the two. Authorities have not indicated that any of these works are connected to the death, and there is no official confirmation that the person seen in the Maryland footage is Rivas.
The investigation continues as authorities seek to establish a timeline for Rivas’s movements before her death and to determine whether the Maryland sighting connects to broader events in the case. D4vd’s team has not issued a public statement since the police raid; a representative for the artist did not respond to requests for comment.
