Steven Tyler Split Rumors Surface About 11-Year Relationship With Aimee Preston
TMZ reports a breakup between Aerosmith frontman and longtime partner, later contradicted by sources; timeline and health context examined.

Steven Tyler, the Aerosmith frontman, is reported to have split from his girlfriend of 11 years, Aimee Preston, according to TMZ. The 77-year-old rocker and the 38-year-old Preston allegedly parted ways at some point earlier this year, the outlet said. But shortly after the report published, TMZ updated that sources close to the couple said they had not broken up and were continuing to see each other. The couple met in 2012 when Preston was hired as Tyler's personal assistant, and their romance began about two years later. They were known for kissing, hugging and holding hands at red-carpet events, including appearances at the Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party at the Hollywood Palladium. The last time they were seen cuddling on the red carpet was at that February event.
Preston stood by Tyler's side during health scares, including his May 2022 return to rehab after a relapse tied to pain medication following foot surgery. Tyler, who has long battled addiction and sobriety, has used rehab to focus on health, and his touring schedule has sometimes been affected by treatment. Tyler is the father of actress Liv Tyler, and has other children with ex-wife Cyrinda Foxe and with Teresa Barrick, from whom he separated in 2005. He has previously been engaged to Erin Brady, though that relationship ended before 2013. Requests for comment from his representative were not immediately returned. The entertainment world continues to monitor Tyler's personal life and health as he remains active in music and public appearances.
