Surveillance Footage Emerges as Teen Celeste Rivas Is Found in D4vd's Tesla

New surveillance footage obtained by TMZ shows Celeste Rivas, then 15, walking near a Lake Elsinore liquor store on March 19, 2024, weeks before she disappeared. Rivas was later found dead in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to the social media star known as D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. Authorities discovered the dismembered remains Sept. 8 at a Hollywood tow yard after police were summoned to investigate a foul odor in the vehicle.

Video from the liquor store surveillance shows Rivas wearing a black hoodie and white pants, with another angle showing her jogging around a corner before leaving frame. Elie Naddaf, the shop owner who provided the clips to Rivas’s family, said the teenager had previously run away from home several times and that she would often stop by his store to buy soda, chips and gum. Investigators have described Rivas as coming from a troubled family environment; her mother told TMZ she believed the teenager had been dating someone named David.

The investigation has focused on how Rivas ended up in Burke’s car. Police raided Burke’s Hollywood Hills rental home in search of blood evidence and other material tied to the case; the exact items recovered have not been disclosed. LAPD officials say several items of evidence have been collected for analysis, but they have not issued a public update or named any suspects or persons of interest. Burke’s team has said he was fully cooperating with investigators after the body was found, but no further statements have been issued.

Rivas’s family says they last saw her on May 4, 2024. Her brother, Matthew Rivas, said she left home to go see a movie with Burke and never returned. Authorities are working to reconstruct the timeline between her May disappearance and the September discovery, including determining when she died. Investigators are also examining the nature of Burke’s relationship with Rivas, given social-media speculation and public posts that have circulated since the discovery.

Online discussion has circulated around the possibility of a romantic connection between Rivas and Burke, along with questions about her age, as some reports suggested she was older than she was. Authorities have not confirmed any romantic link as part of the official investigation. There has also been interest in an unreleased Burke track rumored to reference Celeste, though officials have not verified any link to the case.

D4vd rose to prominence on TikTok in 2022 and later appeared on late-night television.
